O2 rolls out standalone 5G service in East Sussex

Virgin Media O2 has switched on its 5G Standalone footprint in several urban centres and hundreds of rural villages in East Sussex in southern England. The O2 5G+ rollout covers more than 830,000 urban residents, including East Sussex's biggest coastal city, Brighton and Hove, as well as several key towns in the area, including Peacehaven, Hastings, Lewes, Eastbourne, Seaford and Rye.

Proximus adds kids mobile plan option to FMC range

Belgian operator Proximus is introducing a mobile plan for kids, available for customers taking its Flex fixed-mobile packages. The plan costs EUR 7 per month for 2 GB, 120 minutes and unlimited SMS, and any additional spending is blocked automatically. A 'Kids Protection Pack' is included, with parental controls via Norton Family software and educational tips from Child Focus. In addition, Proximus provides a free ticket to the educational museums Technopolis or Sparkoh!.

DSI Data, Imafex raise pay-TV rates

Slovak operators DSI Data and Imafex have raised prices for their pay-TV services from 01 April, reports Zive.sk. DSI Data doubled the price of the base package, including Slovak and Czech TV channels, and Imafex's base package rises by around 38 percent, from EUR 7.90 to EUR 10.90 per month.

Plus cuts unlimited package to PLN 60 on 2-year contract

Polish operator Polkomtel, trading under the Plus brand, has introduced a promotion of its postpaid package L with unlimited calls, messaging and data. The plan is offered for a promotional price of PLN 60 monthly for new and current customers concluding new contracts for 24 months. That's down from PLN 100 per month normally in the first two years. Under the same promo, the M plan with 60 GB is reduced to PLN 50 from PLN 60 per month, and the S plan with 6 GB costs PLN 40 rather than PLN 50.

Wallonia digital maturity index shows 94% of households connected to internet

Internet penetration has reached 94 percent of households in the Belgian region of Wallonia and 89 percent of people in the region have smartphones, according to the latest digital maturity barometer by the regional government's digital agency. Households are also more satisfied with their internet connections, with 64 percent considering the connection quality good, up 4 percentage points from the previous survey. At the same time, almost one in ten (9%) said they experience service disruptions regularly.

Life Belarus introduces full unlimited data option

Life Belarus introduced 'The Full Unlimited' mobile service, for unlimited data traffic without speed restrictions. New subscribers connecting to the tariff plans 'Everything Easy Pro' and 'Everything Easy Max' will be able to use the new service free until the end of this year. Current subscribers switching to the tariffs above are offered the unlimited service free for three months. The service is also free for subscribers of the plan 'Endless Pro Max' until the end of this year.

T-Mobile Czechia adds Disney+ to video offering

T-Mobile Czech Republic has added the streaming service Disney+ to its offer. Disney+ is available under the new tariff plan Magenta TV XL Plus & Disney+, costing CZK 999 monthly. New customers can subscribe for CZK 449 the first six months. The price includes a Disney+ Standard subscription worth CZK 219 per month.

2degrees research highlights decline in voice calls despite rising mobile usage

New Zealand operator 2degrees has published new research indicating that while mobile phone use continues to increase in New Zealand, voice calls are declining and are associated with higher levels of perceived personal connection than text-based communication. The nationwide study, conducted in March 2026 among 830 adults, found that 68 percent of respondents primarily use messaging services, including SMS and social platforms, to stay in touch, compared with 15 percent who default to phone calls.

Proximus announced a new initiative with the regional government of Wallonia to work on cybersecurity for internet users. They will work together to raise awareness of cyber risks at the publicly run computer centres in the region.

T2 offers connected car service for Russian electric car Atom

Russian mobile operator T2, a subsidiary of Rostelecom, has implemented an eSIM profile on all versions of the electric car Atom from Russian automotive company Kama, reports Tass. Information about the car and its services is transferred over a secure connection on the mobile network, and customers can access online services such as navigation, music, video and other digital services on the car's multi-media platform.

O2 Slovakia offers data sharing for extra devices

O2 Slovakia has introduced its new service O2 Connect for customers looking to connect multiple devices. Subscribers can share data, calls and SMS/MMS from their mobile packages on a tablet, laptop or smartwatch for a monthly rate of EUR 4 per SIM. Three types of  O2 postpaid plan support the new offer, and the Sims can be ordered and activated on the O2 app.

Orange Poland blocks 345,000 phishing web domains in 2025

Orange Poland said that its CERT blocked 345,000 phishing internet domains in 2025, and some 5.5 million customers trying to access the domains were protected from possible loses of data and money. Orange is adding new tool that can help them check if a website is possibly a phishing front and blocked by Orange.
