Iliad Italia launches entry-level Top 170 plan

Iliad Italia has announced the launch of a new entry-level plan with 170 GB of data for under EUR 8 a month. The offer, dubbed Top 170 Plus, replaces the Iliad Giga 150 plan and is initially available until 19 May. It joins the operator's Giga 200 and Giga 250 plans, with 200 GB and 250 GB of 5G data for EUR 9.99 and EUR 11.99 a month respectively.

Italian wholesale operator FiberCop has announced the launch of a bond offering for a total of EUR 1 billion for general corporate purposes. The offering is made up of senior secured notes due 2031 and is priced at an aggregate principal amount of 5.375 percent.

Telecom Italia's low-cost brand Kena has extended the validity of a time-limited plan launched to mark its ninth anniversary. The Kena Promo 200GB offer includes 200GB of 5G data plus unlimited calls and 200 SMS for EUR 5.99 a month, with the operator also gifting the first month's top-up to clients who port their number from Iliad and several MVNOs.

It includes 100GB of mobile data at 4G speeds for under EUR 5 a month, with the operator also reducing the EUR 29.90 activation fee to EUR 2.99 under the promo.

Fastweb (Fastweb+Vodafone) has announced on its website that over a dozen fixed line plans in its portfolio will be subject to a price increase of up to EUR 3 a month starting on 01 May 2026. The unilateral price hikes range from EUR 1 to EUR 3 a month and are due to the need to continue guaranteeing the best network quality and offer services to always meet customer needs, said the operator.

Disney has signed a content licensing agreement with Italian public broadcaster Rai to air a selection of the latter's content on Disney+ the day after their TV debut. The deal is the latest of several Disney partnerships with European free-to-air broadcasters, including ones with RTVE and Atresmedia in Spain, Germany's ZDF and ARD, Britain's ITV and Portugal's SIC.

Italian inflation rises to 1.7% in March

Italy's main domestic inflation rate (NIC) rose to 1.7 percent annually in March, up from 1.6 percent the previous month and 1.0 percent in January, according to preliminary data from statistics agency Istat. Industry groups warn Italian cloud tax risks fragmenting EU digital market

EuroISPA, CISPE and the European Digital SME Alliance have teamed up to voice their alarm over an Italian government decree introducing a recurring levy on cloud storage services, arguing it risks fragmenting the EU digital single market. The joint industry statement criticises the measure signed by Italy's culture minister on 23 February as an unjustified expansion of the country's private copy levy system to cloud-based storage.

Milan-based data centre services provider DHH International has acquired a 65 percent stake in BLS Consulting, marking its entry into the managed cybersecurity market. The company said BLS, a Pavia-headquartered managed service firm focused on IT infrastructure and cybersecurity for business clients, generates over 80 percent of its revenue from recurring sources.

Telecom Italia's low-cost brand Kena has marked the nine-year anniversary of its launch by once again offering all new and existing customers a free 70GB data bundle at 5G speeds of up to 250 Mbps. Under the promo, customers have until 02 April to activate the bundle at no extra cost to be used up over a period of 72 hours via the My Kena application and customer area.

Telecom Italia (TIM) and CDP Venture Capital have signed a memorandum of understanding to identify and support Italian startups and small businesses with high growth potential in areas crucial to the country's digital sovereignty. Italtel boosts ship-to-port connectivity for Costa Cruises fleet

Italian ICT and network specialist Italtel has landed a contract to strengthen communications between ships and ports for Costa Cruises, improving the reliability of network connectivity during port calls across the company's fleet. Italtel worked with Cisco to deliver a wireless system that allows continuous, secure and low-latency data exchanges between onboard and onshore infrastructure, helping cruise operators to manage check-in and other operations for thousands of passengers within tight timeframes.

Mediterra DataCenters acquires Sicily hub OHM

Digital infrastructure provider Mediterra DataCenters has announced the acquisition of Open Hub Med (OHM), a data centre facility located in Carini, near Palermo, for an undisclosed sum. Mediterra said the deal forms part of its strategy to build a scalable and sustainable data centre ecosystem serving cloud, content, application, network and security operators across Southern Europe.

TIM joins Fastweb in requesting end to Inwit towers deal

Telecom Italia (TIM) said its board of directors has resolved to terminate early a long-term contract it has in place with mobile towers group Inwit, following a similar decision announced last week by Swisscom's Italian subsidiary Fastweb+Vodafone. In a statement, TIM said the decision to end the Master Service Agreement (MSA) with Inwit is part of the company's ongoing effort to "optimise its infrastructure cost base".

Eolo CEO Garrone to oversee CFO activities

Italian fixed wireless broadband provider Eolo announced that Paolo Percuoco has stepped down as Chief Financial Officer and that his activities will be redistributed internally under the supervision of current CEO Guido Garrone. The latter initially served as Chief Technology Officer when he joined the company in 2019, subsequently taking over as co-CEO of the Network Division and sole CEO in 2023.

Italy's Intred posts FY revenues up 1% to EUR 56 mln

Italian fixed-network operator Intred, based in the northern region of Lombardy, reported revenues of EUR 55.8 million for 2025 as a whole, up 1.1 percent year on year, with EBITDA rising from EUR 24.5 million to EUR 25.5 million and the margin from 44.4 percent to 45.8 percent. Intred said the result was due to the divestment of low-margin or non-strategic services following its acquisition of regional rival Connecting Italia and the gradual termination of activations related to the tenders of the 'Giga Sc

FiberCop revenues top EUR 3.8 bln in 2025, reaches 14.3 mln premises

Italian wholesale operator FiberCop reported revenues of EUR 3.8 billion in 2025 as a whole, its first full year as an independent company. The company spun off from Telecom Italia (TIM) in July 2024 said a comparison of H2 2025 and H2 2024 showed stable performance following the transition period, consistent with prior guidance, with organic EBITDAaL growing to EUR 920 million from EUR 917 million.

CyrusOne breaks ground on first Milan data centre

CyrusOne has broken ground on its first data centre in Italy, the first of two facilities planned for Milan. The global data centre operator said the MIL1 project in Segrate will offer 27 megawatts of IT capacity across 7,000 square metres of technical space in a three-storey building housing three 9-megawatt data halls.

Italy business confidence steady in March, consumer morale plummets

Italy's consumer confidence plunged in March to the lowest level since October 2023 but overall business remained essentially unchanged, according to the latest report from national statistics office Istat. Composite business confidence across the manufacturing, retail, construction and services sectors came to 97.3 in March compared to 97.4 the previous month due to a fall in retail trade sentiment to 100.6 from 104.9, offset by rises in all other segments

Open Fiber FY revenues up 18% to EUR 798 mln, tops 16 mln FTTH homes

Italian wholesale operator Open Fiber, owned by state lender CDP (60%) and Australian infrastructure fund Macquarie Asset Management (40%), reached 17 million fibre to the home premises at the end of 2025, up from 15.9 million a year earlier, as well as over 300 partner operators using the network. Open Fiber's infrastructure served more than 3.8 million active customers at the end of December, up 560,000 in the 12 months to December, confirming its leading position among European wholesale-only operators.

Ho Mobile offers free EUR 10 top-up via MediaWorld

Ho Mobile, the low-cost brand of Italian operator Fastweb+Vodafone, has teamed up with MediaWorld to offer new subscribers a free EUR 10 top-up when they acquire a SIM card from the electronics chain. The offer is available until 31 July at both physical stores and online on a maximum of two SIM cards.
