Solcon adds new 2 Gbps broadband offer

Dutch ISP Solcon is introducing a new broadband service at 2 Gbps, available on the KPN and Delta FTTH networks. On the KPN network the subscription costs EUR 62.50, and the price is EUR 67 in Delta areas. At the same time Solcon is increasing speeds and adjusting prices for other fibre subscriptions.

Proximus adds kids mobile plan option to FMC range

Belgian operator Proximus is introducing a mobile plan for kids, available for customers taking its Flex fixed-mobile packages. The plan costs EUR 7 per month for 2 GB, 120 minutes and unlimited SMS, and any additional spending is blocked automatically. A 'Kids Protection Pack' is included, with parental controls via Norton Family software and educational tips from Child Focus. In addition, Proximus provides a free ticket to the educational museums Technopolis or Sparkoh!.

Optus follows Telstra with second price rise within a year

Optus has begun notifying customers it is will be raising its postpaid mobile plans by AUD 5 from 18 May – the second time within 12 months. The operator has promised higher data allowances for the new tariffs. Its cheapest "Choice Plus" postpaid plan comes with an extra 10 GB of data (now 60 GB) and will rise by AUD 5 to AUD 60 a month. Its medium plan increases to AUD 70 for 240 GB, and the largest plan rises to AUD 90 for 480 GB, which is up 80 GB.

DSI Data, Imafex raise pay-TV rates

Slovak operators DSI Data and Imafex have raised prices for their pay-TV services from 01 April, reports Zive.sk. DSI Data doubled the price of the base package, including Slovak and Czech TV channels, and Imafex's base package rises by around 38 percent, from EUR 7.90 to EUR 10.90 per month.

Polish operator Polkomtel, trading under the Plus brand, has introduced a promotion of its postpaid package L with unlimited calls, messaging and data. The plan is offered for a promotional price of PLN 60 monthly for new and current customers concluding new contracts for 24 months. That's down from PLN 100 per month normally in the first two years. Under the same promo, the M plan with 60 GB is reduced to PLN 50 from PLN 60 per month, and the S plan with 6 GB costs PLN 40 rather than PLN 50.

Proton launches video meetings platform with baked-in privacy features

Swiss online services vendor Proton has expanded its privacy-themed line-up with a new video conferencing platform pitched as an alternative to Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. Proton Meet aims to address data privacy risks related to video calls as well as underlying metadata and chat histories. The platform applies end-to-end encryption empowered by Messaging Layer Security to ensure all video calls stay protected.

Life Belarus introduced 'The Full Unlimited' mobile service, for unlimited data traffic without speed restrictions. New subscribers connecting to the tariff plans 'Everything Easy Pro' and 'Everything Easy Max' will be able to use the new service free until the end of this year. Current subscribers switching to the tariffs above are offered the unlimited service free for three months. The service is also free for subscribers of the plan 'Endless Pro Max' until the end of this year.

T-Mobile Czech Republic has added the streaming service Disney+ to its offer. Disney+ is available under the new tariff plan Magenta TV XL Plus & Disney+, costing CZK 999 monthly. New customers can subscribe for CZK 449 the first six months. The price includes a Disney+ Standard subscription worth CZK 219 per month.

Chile tops LatAm fixed broadband affordability ranking

Chile has by far the most economical fixed broadband rates among seven Latin American nations analysed by JP Morgan, announced sector watchdog Subtel in a statement. The report found that Chilean consumers pay up to seven times less for fixed broadband services compared to users in Guatemala and Mexico.

Fastweb to hike cost of more fixed line rates by up to EUR 3/mth next month

Fastweb (Fastweb+Vodafone) has announced on its website that over a dozen fixed line plans in its portfolio will be subject to a price increase of up to EUR 3 a month starting on 01 May 2026. The unilateral price hikes range from EUR 1 to EUR 3 a month and are due to the need to continue guaranteeing the best network quality and offer services to always meet customer needs, said the operator.

O2 Slovakia offers data sharing for extra devices

O2 Slovakia has introduced its new service O2 Connect for customers looking to connect multiple devices. Subscribers can share data, calls and SMS/MMS from their mobile packages on a tablet, laptop or smartwatch for a monthly rate of EUR 4 per SIM. Three types of  O2 postpaid plan support the new offer, and the Sims can be ordered and activated on the O2 app.

MTN South Africa has launched Pi, a new suite of mobile and home internet month-to-month products that customers can manage from a dedicated app. MTN is offering a special three-month launch promotion where new customers can get up to 20GB per month for ZAR 1. Customers signing up for its new MTN Pi home broadband products can also get unlocked speeds for the first three months on cheaper packages.

Portuguese telecom prices down 2.2% annually in February

Telecommunications prices in Portugal saw a slight increase of 0.1 percent in February from the previous month, according to Anacom data. However, compared to February 2025, prices decreased by 2.2 percent. Looking at specific services, bundled services experienced a 0.8 percent decrease, and mobile telephone services dropped by 2.1 percent over the last twelve months.

Comcast Business is launching new internet plans for small businesses. Under the name 'Total Solutions Advantage', the monthly bundles include high-speed connectivity and cybersecurity with the Security Edge service to protect against phishing, malware and other cyber threats automatically. No extra hardware or dedicated IT resources are needed to benefit from the extra protection, other than a Comcast Business modem.

KPN refreshes broadband plans with higher prices

KPN has refreshed its fixed broadband plans. All the prices are slightly more expensive, apart from the 1 Gbps service, which remains at EUR 52.50 per month for new customers. On FTTH, the plans start now at 200 Mbps, while 100 Mbps remains available for customers with DSL.

T2 adds free calls to Russia from abroad to top plans

Russian mobile operator T2, a subsidiary of the national operator Rostelecom, said that it will not apply roaming surcharges for calls to Russian networks from foreign countries anymore. The new charging policy applies for numerous tariffs from the operator in more than 50 countries worldwide. Subscribers to Everywhere Online, My Online+, Premium, Premium Black, My Business L and My Business Premium plans are among those who will benefit from the new offer automatically.

Kosovo telecom operator Ipko has launched its updated Infinit postpaid mobile packages, offering increased mobile internet allowances in the Western Balkans and Europe, and for the first time in Kosovo, dedicated internet for the US. The Infinit packages come in five options, from Infinit 1 to Infinit 5, with prices ranging from EUR 10 to EUR 100 per month. Netflix has announced price increases in the US, its first increase since January 2025. The entry-level price rises by USD 1 to USD 9 per month for the Standard plan with ads, Standard without ads goes up to USD 20 per month from USD 18, and the Premium plan costs USD 2 more, at USD 27 per month. Adding an extra person to the subscription will cost USD 8 with ads or USD 10 without advertising.
