
Roku plans to introduce “Roku Originals,” the rebranded catalogue of content acquired from Quibi, on May 20, in celebration of Streaming Day. A total of 30 titles will be shown, exclusively on The Roku Channel, with more to come in the future.
The Originals available on 20 May will include #FreeRayshawn; About Face; Bad Ideas with Adam Devine; Barkitechture; Big Rad Wolf; Blackballed; Centerpiece; Chrissy’s Court; Cup of Joe; Die Hart; Dishmantled; Dummy; Fight Like a Girl; Flipped; The Fugitive; Gayme Show; Iron Sharpens Iron; Last Looks; Let’s Roll with Tony Greenhand; Most Dangerous Game; Murder House Flip; Murder Unboxed; Nightgowns; Prodigy; Punk’d; Reno 911!; Royalties; Shape of Pasta; Thanks a Million and; You Ain’t Got These.
Also on 20 May, Roku will also be partnering with Laugh Out Loud, a multi-platform comedy brand founded by Kevin Hart. Under the agreement, Roku will bring LOL! Network also to The Roku Channel, joining over 35 other live linear streaming channels.
Streaming Day commemorates the launch of the first Roku streaming player in 2008, Roku explained, saying it will feature a series of promotional offers for customers in Canada on that day. Under the deals set to run on 19-28 May, Canadian customers will be able to get USD 5 off Roku Express, USD 10 off Roku Streaming Stick+ and USD 30 off the Roku Streambar. The Roku Channel is available on Roku streaming players and Roku TV models produced by Hisense, RCA, Sharp, Sanyo, TCL and Westinghouse.
