Beeline Russia adds favourite numbers option

Russian operator Beeline introduced the service Favourite Numbers, offering unlimited calls to up to five telephone numbers. The offer is available for numbers registered on other Russian mobile networks, as well as Beeline lines. New customers are offered a free weekly trial of the service, after which the monthly rate is RUB 290.

KPN spells out maximum price hikes in updated contract terms

KPN has updated its terms and conditions in customer contracts to specify the amount of price increases beyond inflation. The new clause allows for increases per calendar year of up to 5 percent or EUR 3 above the annual inflation rate. The conditions apply for mobile and fixed customers from June.

Orange Poland opens orders for Oppo Find X9 Ultra

Orange Poland has started pre-sales of the smartphone Oppo Find X9 Ultra 5G in its shops. Customers connecting to the postpaid Plan L from the operator for 24 months are offered the device for PLN 6,459 (PLN 99 initial payment followed by PLN 265 per month). The device is offered for PLN 7,399 without the subscription contract.

Vivo has officially partnered with Magyar Telekom, making its premium X300 Pro and X300 smartphones available through the operator. The Vivo X300 Pro, priced at HUF 493,680, comes with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, available in black and brown. It includes a complimentary Vivo Zeiss Telephoto Extender Kit lens and a Vivo Imaging Grip Kit that doubles as a power bank.

Bouygues Telecom ups prices of fibre-only 8 Gbps offer to EUR 27/month

French operator Bouygues Telecom has raised the monthly rate of its standalone 8 Gbps package to EUR 26.99, up by EUR 1 per month. The offer, based on the XGS‑PON standard, was last updated in early February. At that time, it was renamed 'B&You Pure Fibre Plus' at a new monthly rate of EUR 25.99 to differentiate it from the 'B&You Pure Fibre' option, which remains priced at EUR 24.99 per month with a slower download speed of up to 2 Gbps.

SK Broadband targets digital education market with 5 Gbps school networking switch

South Korea's SK Broadband (SKB) has developed a 5 Gbps network switch designed for school communications networks as demand grows for AI-enabled and high-bandwidth digital learning applications. The operator said the new "5Giga PoE Switch" was jointly developed with NST Information & Communication and provides 5 Gbps connectivity across 24 Ethernet ports, doubling the throughput supported by many existing PoE switches used in schools.

O2 Czech Republic introduced the new tariff plan Neo+, with 10 GB, 150 minutes and 150 SMS to all local networks. The monthly subscription costs CZK 349 during the first 12 months and then CZK 499.

Polish operator Netia has started working with the streaming services Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV, bundling the services with its fixed broadband plans at up to 1 Gbps or 2 Gbps. Amazon Prime, Apple TV and SkyShowtime are offered free for six months to new subscribers.

Hollandsnieuwe helps bring down price of gigabit broadband in Netherlands

The cost of gigabit broadband service is slowly falling in the Netherlands. The monthly average price is down 6.3 percent in the past two years to EUR 51.28, according to the latest comparison in Telecompaper's pricing database. The launch of Ziggo's budget brand Hollandsnieuwe on the fixed broadband market in November 2025 has helped bring down the average.

Microsoft has expanded its partnership with gaming-focused chat platform Discord to bundle access to its Xbox Games Pass catalogue in the newly introduced Nitro Rewards scheme. Nitro Rewards enhances customer benefits on offer for paid Discord subscribers using the premium Discord Nitro service, offering perks and discounts on gaming accessories including headsets, keyboards and mice.

Spain's PC Componentes cuts unlimited data prices

Spanish e-commerce retailer PC Componentes has substantially reduced the price of unlimited data plans available via its new-launched MVNO venture on the MasOrange network. The operator is now offering a monthly mobile-only plan with unlimited data at 5G speeds for EUR 15.90, as well as an annual plan for EUR 100, equivalent to EUR 8.33 a month.

DENMARK 12 MAY

Telmore adds TV 2 Denmark and Viaplay sport & live streaming options to Play service

TDC Brands mobile company Telmore said it is adding sports and live streaming to its Telmore Play streaming service, which offers video, audiobooks and music. Telmore Play subscriptions start at DKK 299 per month and the new packages can be bolted on from DKK 80 monthly. Options include the two packages 'Favorit' and 'Favorit + Sport' from TV 2 Play, and the three Viaplay bundles 'Danish Football, Film & Series', 'Champions League, Film & Series' and 'Premium'.

SWEDEN 12 MAY

Allente offers public screening licences for World Cup

Allente said it has the exclusive rights offer licences for public screenings of the Fifa World Cup men's football competition for Sweden on behalf of Schibsted's TV4 and public broadcaster SVT. Venues such as bars, restaurants and other businesses are invited to apply to Allente for a licences to show the matches legally in their premises. The championship runs from 11 June to 19 July.

TAJIKISTAN 11 MAY

Zet-Mobile offers free swap of minutes to data

Tajikistan operator Zet-Mobile has introduced a promotion enabling customers to exchange unused voice packages for data traffic bundles. The option is available on the Zet-Mobile app or using the USSD menu and is free when converting voice bundles over 200 minutes. The price is TJS 1 for smaller amounts of minutes. The promotion is valid until 31 May. 

ALBANIA 11 MAY

Albania brings telecom consumer protection in line with EU rules

Albania's AKEP, the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority, is proposing new regulations to boost consumer protection and transparency. Among the key changes, telecom providers will be required to provide full information upfront, eliminating costs often only found in the "small print" of a contract. For limited internet packages, users will receive SMS notifications at 80 percent and 100 percent data usage, and services will not automatically continue at higher rates without explicit user approval.

INDIA 11 MAY

Samsung brings Certified Re-Newed programme to Indian consumers

Samsung customers in India can now purchase pre-owned Galaxy handsets that have been renovated to strict quality control standards through Samsung's Certified Re-Newed programme. The India market launch, which took place on 06 May, expands on Certified Re-Newed's earlier introduction in South Korea, the US, the UK, Germany and France. Refurbished Galaxy products will be available throughout India from Samsung's web store and the Samsung Shop app.

BRAZIL 11 MAY

Brazil rolls out new local fixed telephony charging to more states

Brazilian regulator Anatel is expanding its new local fixed telephony area system to Rio de Janeiro, Espirito Santo, and several states in the Midwest and North of Brazil throughout May. This initiative, which began in January, standardizes fixed phone calls to mirror mobile phone operations, eliminating long-distance charges for calls within the same national area code (DDD).

BELGIUM 11 MAY

Yoin offers new customers discount 'for life'

Belgian MVNO Yoin introduced a new offer of a "discount for life", valid until 22 May for new customers. This reduces the price of its 25 GB monthly plan to EUR 6 from EUR 9, and the 40 and 60 GB plans are cut by EUR 4, to respectively EUR 9 and EUR 11 per month. The offer is not valid for the smallest bundle with 5 GB for EUR 8 per month. 

NETHERLANDS 11 MAY

KPN offers monthly data add-ons

KPN has introduced new data add-ons, for customers with limited monthly plans. The 'Datapakkers' come with a choice of 5, 10 or 20 GB, for respectively EUR 2.25, EUR 4.50 and EUR 8.75 per month. They can be added month to month, with no minimum contract required. Customers who also take fixed broadband from KPN receive the data volume. 

POLAND 8 MAY

Plus sells new Huawei smartwatches

Polish operator Polkomtel, trading under the Plus brand, has started sales of new smartwatches from Huawei in its shops. The Huawei Watch Fit 5 is available for PLN 599 (PLN 1 plus twelve monthly payments of PLN 49.83 each). The Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro costs PLN 949 (PLN 1 plus twelve monthly payments of PLN 79 each).

BELGIUM 8 MAY

Belgian regulator proposes maximum six-month contract for Sim-only

Sim-only mobile service contracts should have a maximum duration of six months, according to a proposal from Belgian regulator Bipt. If a handset is included, the contract can run up to two years. The proposals follow a government push to improve competition and affordability in the telecom market. 

ITALY 8 MAY

Vodafone Italia hikes cost of selected landline plans by up to EUR 4/mth

Vodafone Italia (Fastweb+Vodafone) has announced on its website that certain landline plans will be subject to a price increase of up to EUR 3.99 a month starting on 30 June. The unilateral price hikes range from EUR 0.95 to EUR 3.99 a month and have been attributed to the need to guaranteeing the best network quality and services to meet the highest market standards.
