Eutelsat has put an end to the disposal of its passive ground infrastructure, after failing to secure approval for the transaction. France's economy and sovereignty minister Roland Lescure stated in a TV interview that he decided to oppose the sale because Eutelsat's ground stations represent a strategic asset. He noted that the antennas also serve the military, highlighting that Eutelsat is Starlink's ‌only European competitor.

The French public administration is adopting a single video conferencing platform across its public-service workforce. Dubbed Visio, this unified communications system will replace the various alternatives currently in use, including Teams and Zoom. French parliament votes in favour of social media ban for under-15s

France's lower house of parliament has voted in favour of draft legislation backed by president Emmanuel Macron, aimed at protecting children from social media platforms. The first article of the proposed bill bans users under the age of 15 from accessing video‑sharing services deemed to be harmful to children's physical, mental, or moral development. French operator Bouygues Telecom announced the forthcoming launch of a new TV set‑top box (STB), highlighting the integration of the latest innovations in video processing, connectivity and sound quality. NRJ Mobile, Auchan Telecom, and Cdiscount Mobile, the budget brands acquired by French operator Bouygues Telecom in 2021, have introduced a EUR 5 termination fee in all new mobile contracts for no-commitment plans. In a first for the French market, Bouygues Telecom began enforcing a termination fee of the same value in May 2025, applying it to its no‑frills B&YOU portfolio of contract‑free postpaid plans. Red By SFR, the budget brand of French operator SFR, has increased the monthly rate for its basic fibre package to EUR 22.99, reversing the effect of two price cuts introduced in quick succession in mid‑2025. Triple-play packages account for 77% of French broadband market - study

The French broadband market saw the number of triple‑play subscriptions reach 25.2 million in mid‑2025, representing 77 percent of all fixed broadband lines. The finding comes from a recent report published by telecom regulator Arcep, which examines the evolution of retail tariffs over the past decade. Arcep's analysis shows improving affordability for fibre packages without a TV service, with their average monthly cost falling to EUR 26 including VAT, down from EUR 30 in 2022.

French telecom service revenues remained on a downward trend in the three months to September 2025, following a second consecutive quarter of negative growth in both the fixed and mobile segments.
