Italy's Open Fiber tops 20 mln homes passed with FTTH, FWA

Italy's wholesale broadband operator Open Fiber said it has connected 20.2 million homes to its ultra-broadband network, according to its 2025 Sustainability Report, describing it as a key milestone in the country's fibre rollout. The company, owned by state lender CDP (60%) and Macquarie Asset Management (40%), said the figure includes both fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and fixed wireless access (FWA) coverage.

Italian broadcasting tower operators Rai Way and EI Towers have agreed to extended negotiations on a potential merger of their activities until the end of June after missing a previously set 15 June deadline. Italy's inflation confirmed at 3.2% in May

Italy's annual inflation rate (NIC) climbed again to 3.2 percent in May, up from 2.7 percent the previous month and 1.0 percent in January, according to final data from statistics agency Istat that confirmed the preliminary estimate.
