Italy's Ops! Mobile debuts 5G plan with 120GB for under EUR 5

Italian MVNO Ops! Mobile has launched a dedicated plan with 120GB at the highest possible 5G speeds for under EUR 5 a month. The offer, dubbed Ops Senior Extra, comes with unlimited calls, 50 SMS and the 120GB data bundle at full 5G speeds of up to 2 Gbps (download) and 200 Mbps (upload) for EUR 4.99 a month, with a EUR 9.99 activation fee.

Sky Italia to air Italian Open tennis tournament on FTA

Sky Italia has announced that it will be broadcasting one match per day of the forthcoming Italian Open tennis tournament live from Rome on its free-to-air channel TV8. After acquiring the FTA rights from RAI, the broadcaster said a daily game will be available on TV8, alongside all matches on its pay-TV service and Now streaming platform, starting 06 May and ending on 17 May.

TeamSystem FY revenues up 12% to record EUR 1.15 bln

Italy-based business management software provider TeamSystem reported record revenues of EUR 1.15 billion in 2025 as a whole, up 12 percent on an organic basis, with annual recurring revenues accounting for 88 percent of the total, up 4.3 percent year on year. The group said growth was driven by a 20 percent increase in its customer base to over 3.1 million companies and professionals worldwide.

Italian operator WindTre has launched a promotion to give new subscribers access to its standalone fixed broadband plans for under EUR 25 a month for a year. Under the offer, existing customers pay EUR 24.99 a month for the 'Super Fibra' plan at speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps, compared to the usual price of EUR 29.99 a month, the latter having increased from EUR 28.99.

Italian state infrastructure agency Infratel announced that its 'Connected Schools' high-speed broadband project reached 27, 334 activations at the end of March, around five years after its launch. Italy's inflation confirmed at 1.7% in March

Italy's annual inflation rate (NIC) climbed to 1.7 percent in March, up from 1.6 percent the previous month and 1.0 percent in January, according to final data from statistics agency Istat that confirmed the preliminary estimate. The rise was mainly due to higher energy and unprocessed food prices, said Istat.

Italian broadcaster MediaForEurope (MFE) said it would distribute a EUR 0.22 per share dividend on its 2025 results after reporting full-year net profit of EUR 300.7 million, more than double the year-earlier figure. Amazon has announced the availability of its Alexa+ generative AI-based assistant in Italy, which joins early launch countries the US, Canada, Mexico and the UK. Developed by Italian scientists, engineers and language specialists at Amazon's Alexa Research and Development Centre in Turin, Alexa+ is powered by advanced large language models on Amazon Bedrock and built on an entirely new architecture, the company said.

French group Iliad has expanded its financial services business by officially launching its Stancer digital payments arm in Italy, described as the first step in a planned European expansion. TIM shareholders back EUR 400 mln buyback

Telecom Italia (TIM) announced that shareholders at its AGM almost unanimously approved a proposal to buy back up to EUR 700 million treasury shares, corresponding to about 3.3 percent of share capital. They also authorised a reverse stock split at a ratio of one new ordinary share for every ten outstanding ordinary shares, bringing the total number of shares outstanding to EUR 2.135 billion and amending Article 5 (1) of the bylaws.

Italian startup 2D Photonics Group has secured approval from the European Commission for a EUR 211 million grant from the Italian state to develop graphene-based optical technology aimed at speeding up processing at artificial intelligence data centres. The company's innovation, led by its research arm CamGraPhIC, seeks to enable faster data flows between chips and memory components while sharply cutting power consumption and latency.

Italian ICT and network specialist Italtel has formed a strategic partnership with Canada's Quantum Bridge Technologies to develop technology that safeguards critical communications against future quantum computing threats.
