Telecom Argentina raises USD 600 mln in new bond issue

Telecom Argentina said it completed the placement of its Class 27 negotiable obligations for USD 600 million after attracting USD 2.43 billion in bids through 174 orders, marking a demand some 3.3 times greater than the amount offered. The 10-year bonds, with an average term of 9.5 years and a maturity date of 20 January 2036, were issued at a 8.50 percent fixed annual rate, yielding 8.625 percent, the lowest rate for the company's international issues since 2019.

A total of 6.69 million Peruvian mobile users ported their phone number in 2025 as a whole, up 5.4 percent year on year and the highest figure in six years, according to the latest data from telecom regulator Osiptel. Bolivia delays 1.7 GHz and 2.1 GHz band tender until March

Bolivia's telecommunications regulator ATT said its planned tender for frequencies in the 1.7 GHz and 2.1 GHz bands will now be held at the end March, around two months later than initially announced. According to the latest schedule published by the watchdog, bidding documents will be made available to interested parties on 23 February, with the opening of the envelopes for spectrum in the respective bands set to take place on 30 March.

Mexico planning to allocate spectrum for industrial use

Mexico's new Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (CRT) said it has begun holding dialogue sessions with the business community to discuss plans to allocate radio spectrum for dedicated industrial use. A few days after announcing plans to free up the 600 MHz band for 5G use, the watchdog said it is considering spectrum in the 2.3 GHz and 3.5 GHz bands with a view to helping companies automate critical production processes and provide advanced digital infrastructure services, while reducing costs.

Antel to air VTV, VTV Plus and FIX TV signals at no extra cost

Uruguayan state-owned operator Antel said it has reached an agreement to air the signals of pay-TV channels VTV, VTV Plus and FIX TV on its Antel TV service at no extra cost. The deal means viewers will be able to watch the games of the Uruguayan Basketball League via the Antel TV app, as well as the Official Carnival Competition during January and February by way of a promotional offer.

Peru launches regional broadband scheme in Ancash

The government of Peru's central Ancash region has announced the launch of a public connectivity scheme to connect 817 public institutions in 481 localities to fibre. The USD 122 million project awarded to YOFC Peru included installing over 1,900 km of fibre-optic cables to ensure educational institutions, health facilities, police stations and other municipal buildings could access connectivity services, benefiting families, students, teachers and public servants alike.
