KPN to raise prices 3.3% in July

KPN announced a 3.3 percent annual increase in rates for its internet and TV packages from July 2026. The adjustment is in line with the national inflation rate for 2025 as reported by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), consistent with the operator's pledge to not raise prices above this rate.

Odido Q1 revenue up 1.9% as broadband base grows by 3k and mobile base loses 7k

Dutch operator Odido increased both revenue and profitability during the first quarter of 2026. Service revenue rose 2.7 percent year-on-year to EUR 487 million, while total revenue grew 1.9 percent to EUR 590 million, according to an analysis of the company's quarterly results by New Street Research and estimates by Telecompaper.

Digi Belgium adds 60 GB plan to mobile portfolio

Digi Belgium has expanded its mobile offering with a new plan that includes 60 GB of mobile data for EUR 9 per month. With the launch, the operator has added a fourth mobile plan to its portfolio. The new package includes unlimited calls to Belgian networks and complements Digi's existing subscriptions, which offer 7 GB for EUR 3, 30 GB for EUR 5 and 40 GB for EUR 7 per month.

Luxembourg internet exchange LU‑CIX has announced the official launch of Videoconf.lu, a videoconferencing platform designed for businesses of all sizes. The initiative aims to provide local companies with a sovereign service hosted on LU‑CIX's resilient network infrastructure, suitable for crisis management and business continuity. Clients can choose from three packages, dubbed Pro, Pro+ and Enterprise, while tailor‑made offers are also available for larger companies.

VodafoneZiggo expects broadband subscriber losses to end this quarter

VodafoneZiggo CEO Stephen van Rooyen expects the Dutch telecom operator to stop losing broadband customers during the current quarter. Speaking to Financieele Dagblad, he said the operator has already seen a steady reduction in customer losses over the past four quarters and now anticipates stabilisation, with the possibility of slight growth in its broadband base.

Open Dutch Fiber revenue grows 36% in 2025, Odido remains anchor tenant

Open Dutch Fiber (ODF) increased its revenue by nearly 36 percent to EUR 48.2 million in 2025, according to its annual report. The company's largest customer, Odido remained the company's main customer, accounting for 75.5 percent of total revenue, or EUR 36.4 million, as anchor tenant on ODF's network.

Bpost to exclusively sell Digi telco services at post offices

Belgian postal operator Bpost has signed a five-year agreement with telecom provider Digi Belgium, making Digi's mobile and broadband subscriptions available through its nationwide network of post offices. The telecom services are already offered in 83 larger post offices and will be rolled out gradually to all 655 locations over the coming months. Bpost aims to achieve nationwide coverage by this summer.

Liberty Global said it plans to appoint VodafoneZiggo chief executive Stephen Van Rooyen as CEO of Ziggo Group, a newly created Benelux telecoms business combining VodafoneZiggo in the Netherlands and Telenet in Belgium. The group is preparing for a planned listing on Euronext Amsterdam in 2027.

Dutch provider Odido is increasing the monthly price of its "Opnemen" TV recording add-on from EUR 5.00 to EUR 5.99 as of 01 July, while integrating Videoland Basis into the package. The updated bundle, renamed "Opnemen + Videoland Basis", combines recording functionality with 200 hours of storage across 44 TV channels with access to Videoland's entry-level streaming service.

The Dutch regulator ACM has rejected a request from directory service providers Voice Data Bridge, 1800 Services and 1850 to force telecom operators and their association COIN to share more information on subscribers. Proximus NXT survey finds AI governance lagging adoption

Belgian companies are adopting AI rapidly, but governance and cybersecurity issues are often neglected, according to a report from Proximus NXT based on an Ipsos suvey of over 400 organisations with at least 10 employees each. The research found that 81 percent of the organisations allow employees to use AI tools in their daily work, but only 29 percent have a formal policy on AI. Less than four in ten (37%) have organised training to raise awareness on the related risks and obligations.

Dutch police take down botnet infecting 17 mln devices

The Dutch police have taken down a botnet network infecting over 17 million devices. Discovered by a researcher at the National Cyber Security Centre, the network included computers, tablets and smartphones, working with 200 servers hosted in the Netherlands in order to conduct cyber attacks. The servers at the hosting provider were seized and the network taken down due to criminal misuse.

Dutch companies are working more on cybersecurity, and fewer have faced security incidents, according to the annual Cybersecurity monitor from the national statistics agency CBS. Especially bigger businesses are investing more often in cybersecurity.

Belgian wholesale revenues fall 2% in 2025 on lower interconnection income

Wholesale revenues on the Belgian telecom market fell 2.3 percent in 2025 to EUR 650 million, according to market regulator Bipt's annual report. This was mainly due to lower mobile revenues, which were down 6.5 percent to EUR 410 million due mainly to lower income from terminating calls and SMS. Wholesale revenues from fixed network services rose 7 percent to EUR 240 million.

Dutch digital infrastructure agency's director leaves after 7 years

Angeline van Dijk is stepping down at the end of June as inspector general at the Netherlands' digital infrastructure agency RDI. She has taken a new job to lead the country's food safety agency. Van Dijk led the RDI almost seven years, guiding its transition from the former Agentschap Telecom (AT) to the current organsiation with a much broader field of oversight. A replacement has not yet been named.

Consumers union questions KPN, Ziggo price hikes

The Dutch consumers union says it's investigating recent price changes at the leading telecom providers KPN and Ziggo to see if they are legal. This follows dozens of complaints received from consumers about the higher prices. The Consumentenbond said it plans to meet with the operators to discuss the changes, which include a new security fee added by KPN and additional sports channels charged by Ziggo.

Proximus buys out Eurofiber in Unifiber joint venture

Proximus is buying out its partner Eurofiber in the Unifiber joint venture building a FTTP network in the south of Belgium. Proximus will acquire the 50.01 percent stake owned by Eurofiber for EUR 75 million, giving it 100 percent ownership. The deal gives Unfiber an enterprise value of EUR 560 million.
