T-Mobile Poland adds channel TV Zero

T-Mobile Poland said that it has added the channel Zero TV to its pay TV lineup. The channel will be available for subscribers of the Magenta TV service from the operator from 01 February. It will be offered to subscribers of pay TV packages, starting from the package S, without any additional payment.

O2 Slovakia launches Connect second Sim service to share data bundle with other devices

O2 Slovakia introduced the new data sharing service Connect for customers on unlimited mobile plans. They will be able to share data, SMS and voice bundles on multiple devices. The operator is also reducing the price of the service that allows clients to have one number on both their smartphone and smartwatch, so the monthly fee for eSIMs in smartwatches drops to EUR 4 from EUR 5.

Polsat Plus renews Eutelsat Hotbird slot

Eutelsat announced that Poland's Polsat Plus Group renewed their long standing partnership with a new multi-year, multi-transponder contract at Eutelsat's flagship Hotbird video neighbourhood at 13 degrees East. This renewal strengthens the broadcast collaboration started in 1992. It builds on previous multi transponder agreements that have supported expansion of the pay-TV platform Polsat Box and the broadcaster TV Polsat.

Westcon-Comstor, a global distributor of cybersecurity, networking and hybrid cloud products, has acquired Real Security, a cybersecurity distributor based in Slovenia. This move allows Westcon-Comstor to enter the Balkans market, where Real Security has a strong presence across eight countries: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Albania, and North Macedonia.

Life adapts website interface for disabled users

Belarusian operator Life has implemented a widget on its website that adapts the interface for customers with vision, hearing, memory, motor or other disabilities. The widget can adjust colours and text settings, stop animation and remove images, in order to emphasise titles and links. The new service can be activated by clicking on an image in the corner of the home page.

Megafon deploys private LTE network for coal mining company Elgaugol

Russian operator Megafon has deployed a 530-kilometre private LTE network for the coal mining company Elgaugol. The network covers a coal mine, the port of Elga and a railway line from the Republic of Sakha to the Khabarovsk region. The project was started in 2022, covering the coal mine initially, and the network was upgraded and expanded later. The LTE infrastructure works on four frequency bands, and the area covered exceeds 10,000 hectares.

TV Novas agrees distribution of AMC channels in Czechia

Czech operator TV Nova has concluded a multi-year distribution agreement with AMC Networks International Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI CNE). The long-term distribution agreement covers AMCNI CNE's sport and film portfolio in the Czech Republic including Sport1, Sport2, AMC and Film. These channels will be available from February in several hundred thousand households.

Orange Poland implements smart street lighting in Moszczenica

Orange Poland, in cooperation with the company TechnoLight, a reseller of the AEC Illuminazione brand, has implemented its Smart Light solution in the Moszczenica municipality in Gorlice County in the Lesser Poland region. The street lighting management project has helped reduce power consumption by 77 percent and halve exploitation costs for the city, Orange said.

Czech operator Poda has refreshed its customer service application My Poda, adding new functions like Dark Mode. Customers can now buy mobile services on the app, like extra Sims or data bundles, and add devices for watching TV on the application.

MTS opens orders for Huawei Mate X7, FreeClip 2

Russian operator MTS has started accepting orders for the foldable smartphone Huawei Mate X7 and the earbuds Huawei FreeClip 2 in its shops. Pre-sales last until 05 February. Customers buying the smartphone in shops during the promotional period will be offered either the smartwatch Huawei Watch Fit4 Pro or the earbuds Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 free. A RUB 4,000 discount will be offered when buying the FreeClip 2 also.

Russian operator Beeline has opened its training unit at the South-West State University based in Kursk. The university started a new training programme in cooperation with the operator focused on telecommunications technologies. Beeline first agreed a cooperation with the university in 2024.

LepsiaTV to raise prices from February

Slovak online TV service LepsiaTV plans to raise its prices from 01 February, reports Zive. The package Mini, including 65 channels, will cost EUR 5.99 instead of EUR 5.59, and the bundle Classic, containing 133 channels, will increase from EUR 9.59 to EUR 9.99. The package Top, including 146 channels, will cost EUR 12.99 instead of EUR 12.59.

Hungarian telecom services provider Tarr has launched a new internet-based TV service called OnlineTV, which does not require a subscription, monthly commitment, or even a set-top box, reported HWSW. MTS Exolve introduces new chatbots for businesses

Russian PBX services provider MTS Exolve, a subsidiary of the telecom operator MTS, announced that it has launched a new product,  bots for automated communication with customers. The new service was developed on the basis of AI to serve in various business communication tasks, and the AI agents offer accelerated learning capabilities, MTS said. The product can be integrated with CRM systems, databases, billing systems and internal data sources.

Vodafone Ukraine tests 5G in Kiev region

Vodafone Ukraine said that it has started testing its 5G services in Borodyanka in the Bucha municipality in Kiev region. 5G services are provided on the 3,500 GHz band on base stations from Nokia. The project will run until the end of this year.

Russian mobile accessories revenues up 8% in 2025

The Russian market for mobile accessories reached 48.7 million devices in 2025, up by 35 percent year-on-year, according to data from the mobile and electronics retail chain M.Video. Sales revenues amounted to around RUB 35.8 billion, up by 8 percent. Chargers were the main driver of unit sales.

Russian security service to get power to block internet under draft telecom law

The lower chamber of the Russian parliament has approved a draft amendment to the law on telecommunications allowing the suspension of fixed and mobile internet services in the country. The draft document was approved during the first reading, reports Vedomosti. If the law is finally adopted, the federal security service FSB would receive the power to block internet services in the event of a perceived security threat. Orange Romania, .lumen launch AI-powered mobility package for the visually impaired

Orange has teamed up with Romanian start-up .lumen to launch a joint offering that combines assistive technology with 5G connectivity to support the independence of visually impaired consumers. This collaboration introduces a mobility package designed specifically for the blind, featuring the .lumen headset, a smartphone, and access to Orange's 5G voice and mobile internet services.

Digi Romania adds more than 780,000 ported mobile numbers in 2025

Digi added 782,975 ported customers in 2025, or nearly 53.85 percent of all mobile numbers ported in Romania in 2025, according to a report from market regulator Ancom. Digi ended December 2025 with 7.2 million mobile connections and claims to hold a 46.1 percent share of Romania's mobile individual subscriber base. The operator also reports that its 5G network coverage currently reaches 98.6 percent of Romania's population, and is available in 500 towns and cities.

Rostelecom expands networks in Astrakhan, Kaliningrad, Murmansk regions

Russian national operator Rostelecom has deployed LTE base stations in four villages in the Astrakhan region, after building 11 km of fibre backhaul there. The works was carried out under the federal programme on elimination of the digital divide, and the operator has already deployed 21 LTE base stations in the region under the programme. In 2025, Rostelecom deployed 19 LTE base stations in the Kaliningrad region as well.

Poland reaches 11 mln digital IDs on mCitizen app

Poland's Ministry of Digitisation announced that the number of digital IDs issued on the mCitizen (mObywatel) mobile application has exceeded 11 million. The number increased by 2.4 million in the past 12 months. The number of digital driver's licences registered on the application totals 6.2 million. Twenty new services have become available on the application within the past year.

PSO deploys fibre network in Slupca

Polish wholesale operator Polski Swiatlowod Otwarty (PSO) has started deployment of a fibre-optic network in the town of Slupca in the Greater Poland region. Work is carried out with the help of EU funding. The municipal administration announced that the operator Play, controlled by Iliad, will provide services on this network.
