Russian operator TTK has added a corporate messenger function to its PBX service. The service went through beta testing and is now available to all users of the PBX service. The PBX service from TTK supports unified voice and text communication in a single window.

Polish tech industry group calls for greater flexibility in 5G private network rules

Polish ICT industry group Cyfrowa Polska has warned the draft plan for awarding the 3,800-4,200 MHz band issued by the regulator UKE may hinder the development of private 5G networks in Poland. The industry group supports the general direction of the proposed changes and the alignment of regulations with the EU legal framework. Nevertheless, there are specific areas where the adopted approach is more restrictive than technical analyses conducted by international institutions would suggest is needed.

Viasat has been selected by Australian low-cost airline Jetstar Airways to provide in-flight connectivity for long-range international routes. The contract will see Jetstar roll out the Viasat Amara in-flight connectivity (IFC) platform across its fleet of 11 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

Orange Poland and Polkomtel has won a tender on providing GPRS services for power meters at energy company Enea. Orange Poland won three lots under a contract worth PLN 5.271 million, and the operator will provide service for 105,500 SIMs. Polkomtel won two lots, worth PLN 3.58 million and covering 120,000 SIMs. The contracts are valid until 2030.

French B2B operator Free Pro, part of the Iliad group, has expanded its mobile portfolio with the launch of postpaid plans designed for large enterprise clients. This new offering combines 5G/5G+ connectivity with mobile fleet management and cybersecurity services. In particular, mobile lines can be moved between different plans across the range via a control panel, with transfers possible on a monthly basis to optimise cost control.

Orange Spain officially launches branded calls feature

Orange Spain (MasOrange) has officially launched its branded calls feature, allowing businesses and public institutions to display their name, department, logo and reason for calling. The rollout is part of the operator's agreement with global voice intelligence company Hiya and follows activation of its "Llamada Visible" ("Visible Call") option to help customers detect and label spam calls.

Portugal investigates telecom operators for alleged price-fixing on schools tender - report

Portugal's Competition Authority (AdC) is investigating the three major telecommunications operators—Meo, Nos, and Vodafone—on suspicion of price-fixing in public tenders for providing internet services to schools, reported daily Publico. Searches have already been conducted at the companies, and a Public Prosecutor's Office order suggests that this alleged cartel has been active since at least 2021. The operators and prosecutor's office declined to comment.

Totsco announces reductions to business switching prices

Totsco, UK broadband and fixed-line voice switching platform, has announced price reduction for business switching, with the unit price cut from GBP 1.70 to GBP 1.60 per business customer. In addition, providers with less than 20,000 customers will not charged until live operations of business switching begin.

Slovenia completes tender for private networks spectrum

Slovenia's Agency for Communication Networks and Services (Akos) has completed its three-phase public auction for allocating radio frequencies in the 2,300 MHz and 3,600 MHz bands for local use. The first phase of the tender was exclusively for "verticals", organizations using frequencies for their own private networks. The second and third phases allowed other providers to acquire frequencies. In the third and final phase, only one company, T-2, submitted a bid by the deadline.

A1 Serbia to acquire IT company Dex

A1 Serbia intends to purchase Dex, an IT company that develops software to automate business processes. The Macedonian Competition Commission announced the acquisition. While Dex's services, including information system development for companies, banks, and institutions, are primarily focused on Serbia and other Balkan countries, it currently has no operations or turnover in North Macedonia. In 2024, Dex reported EUR 5.4 million in operating revenue and approximately EUR 0.5 million in net profit.

Telia advises security training for summer staff as AI increases use of fluent Finnish in scams

Telia Finland said its cybersecurity centre (kyberturvakeskus) advises businesses to provide security training for their summer staff. It regards spring and summer as a peak season for scams targeting businesses, as an influx of new workers creates a fertile ground for multi-channel phishing attempts. In Finland, scams targeting banks, authorities and CEOs are particularly common, with messages written in fluent Finnish with help from Artificial Intelligence, and emphasising a sense of urgency.
