Telefonica Germany has expanded its 5G network to Daisendorf, Gudow, and GeldersheimIn. In Daisendorf and in Geldersheimt the company has upgraded a mobile site to 5G, while in Gudow Telefonica has started to operate a new 5G mobile site. Telecom billionaire Patrick Drahi is reviving the process to sell Altice's 50 percent stake in its German fibre-optic expansion joint venture, OXG Glasfaser, according to a report in the FT. RTL+, the streaming service of German private broadcaster RTL, will combine its offering with that of HBO Max for the launch of the streaming service from Warner Bros in Germany on 13 January. RTL+ surpasses 7 mln paying subscribers

RTL+, the streaming service of German private broadcaster RTL, has surpassed 7 million paying subscribers at the turn of the year. RTL said it has one of the fastest growing streaming services on the German market. Last year, RTL+ attracted an average of more than 10 million monthly users, recording a cumulative net reach of 10.24 million people per month.

Anna Dimitrova has joined Zalando as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from Deutsche Glasfaser, effective 01 January. Telefonica Germany reports small rise in mobile data traffic over New Year's

Telefonica Germany handled around 885,000 GB of data traffic in the first hour of 2026, up 2 percent compared with 865,000 GB during the same period last year.  The company said 21,000 GB was uploaded in the 15 minutes before New Year's Eve, and 55,000 GB during the first 15 minutes of 2026. From 20.00 to 03.00 hours approximately 5.7 million gigabytes of mobile data flowed through the O2 network, compared with 5.5 million during the same period a year ago.

Deutsche Telekom plans to expand its fibre-optic network in 52 areas in Stuttgart in the coming year, in partnership with the company Gigabit Region Stuttgart and associations in and around the southern Germany city. Deutsche Telekom has made fibre broadband available to around 133,000 homes and businesses across Stuttgart. This includes Telekom's commercial network roll-out and subsidised network programmes. O2 Germany network carries over 5.7 billion GB data in 2025

Telefonica Germany's O2 mobile network carried over 5.7 billion gigabytes of network between January-November 2025, compared to 5.6 billion gigabytes registered in the whole of 2024. Monthly data traffic on the O2 network is now higher than 2017 as a whole year, with peak loads seen during major festivals and Bundesliga football matches. The O2 network now carries over 500 million gigabytes of data per month, compared to a total of 418 million gigabytes during 2017.

Vodafone Germany registers 32% jump in mobile network data traffic

Vodafone Germany's mobile network carried a record 4.1 billion gigabytes of data in 2025, up by 32 percent or one billion gigabytes from 2024; carrying on average over 11 million gigabytes of data each day.  The average customer used 16.5 GB of data per month in 2025, up from 14.5 GB per month in 2024. The network registered around 30 billion incoming and outgoing calls over the last 12 months, up 15 percent year-on-year; with Vodafone sending 50 million spam call alerts to mobile customers.

Deutsche Telekom will launch a new international golf package for MagentaTV customers in Germany from January 2026. This will cover 132 competitions and will be included with all MagentaTV subscription plans at no extra cost. The new golf licensing agreement runs until 2029 and includes around 300 days of live golf each year on the MS Golf 1 and MS Golf 2 channels. Amazon ordered to correct misleading information on Prime Video ads

Amazon.com misled its Prime Video subscribers in Germany when it announced the start of advertising on the service, the Munich regional court ruled in a case brought by consumer rights group Vzbv.
