Denmark's GomSpace forms UASAT sovereign satellite venture with Ukraine's Stetman

Danish company GomSpace said it has signed an agreement with Ukrainian partner Stetman to establish a joint venture called UASAT to develop capacity for sovereign satellite communication capabilities for dual use. The first satellite is due for launch in autumn 2026 to provide operational feedback for the next steps in the UASAT roadmap. Further information about the initiative will be disclosed as appropriate and in accordance with current operational security considerations.

Telenor Norway blocks 666 mln digital scam attempts in Q1

Telenor Norway said it blocked 666 million unsafe websites and attempts at digital crime in the first quarter of 2026. Attempts to spread malware accounted for nearly 40 percent of blocks by the operator's security filter in Q1, making it the largest single category of digital threat. CEO Birgitte Engebretsen said malware can be used to carry out a variety of forms of fraud and digital crime.

Finnish caller identification service provider Fonecta said that over 50,000 users of the Fonecta Caller app provided with its Caller Pro subscription have blocked phone numbers almost 700,000 times in the past year. Research done for Fonecta by Iro in February has found that only 25 percent of Finns never block unknown numbers. Anthropic probes unauthorised access to Mythos model

Anthropic says it is investigating unauthorised access to its Mythos Artificial Intelligence model, according to French news agency AFP. Mythos is intended to identify security holes that have existed for decades but now appears to be vulnerable itself. Earlier this month, Anthropic made a restricted release of Mythos to 40 major technology firms, to give them a head start in fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities before they could be exploited by attackers.

Vodafone Business is launching new services for SMBs under its partnership with Google Cloud. Business customers will have access to a managed detection and response (MDR) service enabled by Google Security Operations, to help boost their protection from the growing number of cyber threats. Naver Webtoon reports increase in paid revenue following anti-piracy measures

South Korea's Naver Webtoon said enhancements to its anti-piracy system have led to an increase in paid content revenue, according to a report covering the first quarter of 2026. Sony has announced the introduction of age verification for PlayStation users in the UK and Ireland. Sony said the age checks are being introduced to ensure that users are provided with the best PlayStation experience for their age, and to protect younger users from inappropriate content. It is advising customers to complete age verification as soon as possible to avoid any service disruption. In-game communications and other features will be blocked from June 2026 to users who have not verified their age.

Telia advises security training for summer staff as AI increases use of fluent Finnish in scams

Telia Finland said its cybersecurity centre (kyberturvakeskus) advises businesses to provide security training for their summer staff. It regards spring and summer as a peak season for scams targeting businesses, as an influx of new workers creates a fertile ground for multi-channel phishing attempts. In Finland, scams targeting banks, authorities and CEOs are particularly common, with messages written in fluent Finnish with help from Artificial Intelligence, and emphasising a sense of urgency.

Telenor Sweden says 9 out of 10 children worry about AI

Nearly nine out of ten children in Sweden worry about Artificial Intelligence, according to a survey by Telenor carried out with Plan International. It found that 93 percent of 16 to 19-year-olds have used AI in the past year. At least once a week, 42 percent of children and young people have had difficulty in working out whether something was real or created by AI. Forty-one percent said they did nothing about it the last time this happened.

Fibre operator and ISP Valoo said it is bolstering customer security by implementing protection based on Finnish banks' blacklists. It blocks access to known phishing scam websites and breaks the lifecycle of fraud campaigns much faster than before. Previously, it has taken several days in some cases for such sites to be taken down, during which time the criminals have had time to act and vanish into the digital depths.

The Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique has approved the Cyber Security Act and the Cybercrimes Act, LUSA reported. The laws provide for a new regulatory body called the National Cyber Security Authority, with powers to oversee digital sectors and impose sanctions. Most Irish SMEs worried about mobile security risks - Vodafone

Seven in ten Irish SMEs (70%) are more worried about spyware, malware, data leakage and phishing risks on mobile devices than last year, according to the latest Vodafone Business Cybersecurity Report. The survey of 300 Irish SMEs found 20 percent do not proactively monitor for security threats, with 40 percent granting wide access to business resources to workers on the go without implementing dedicated mobile security controls.

Norwegian govt plans municipal guide to telecoms infrastructure analysis

The Norwegian government plans to publish a guide this autumn to help municipalities to analyse vulnerabilities in their mobile and broadband networks. It aims to assist them to understand their own digital infrastructure better and enhance regional cooperation in contingency planning. Minister of Digitisation and Public Administration Karianne Tung said the guide will provide specific advice to municipal councils intending to map their digital infrastructure.
