@home was the second largest cable operator in the Netherlands, after UPC, with 1.8 million cable connections. After the merger with Casema and Multikabel into the Zesko Holding, the combination is the largest cable network operator of the Netherlands. In September 2007, Zesko reached agreements with all working councils with regards to a social plan. A new company and brand name for Zesko and its subsidiaries will be announced during the first half of 2008. @home targets both the consumer (with the @Home brand) and the corporate market (using the @Work brand) and its strategy is based on growth of digital TV, broadband internet and telephony via cable services. @Home is the largest broadband ISP in the Netherlands with 684,000 customers and has 245,000 telephony subscribers plus 398,000 digital TV subscribers at the end of the second quarter of 2007. Dutch broadband market grows to 5.59 mln, fuelled by cable

For the first time since 2002, Dutch cable internet operators added more new broadband customers than ADSL ISPs. The cable internet providers sold two times as many subscriptions as the ADSL providers during the fourth quarter of 2007, according to Telecompaper's quarterly report about the Dutch broadband market. True launches Wi-Fi promotion campaign

Thai retail property developer CPN and communications group True have launched a Wi-Fi promotion campaign. Shoppers at CPN's shopping centres CentralWorld and CentralPlaza can get 15 minutes of free Wi-Fi by TrueMove per day at the centres, until 31 August. Furthermore, shoppers who spend more than THB 500 in the shopping centres will get a 15 percent discount on any TrueMove Wi-Fi packages until 30 September.

Dutch VoIP connections pass 2 million mark

The Dutch consumer telephony market grew by 0.1 percent during the first quarter of 2007 to 6.017 million connections, as a continued drop in PSTN/ISDN lines was offset by a strong VoIP market. Essent files lawsuit against Stichting Kabelnet Veendam

Dutch cable services provider Essent Kabelcom has filed a lawsuit against cable company Stichting Kabelnet Veendam (SKV) for contract breach and slander. Essent alleges that SKV has breached a five-year contract. The companies signed a contract for the provision of digital television signals by Essent to SKV.
