Proximus fuseert Tango, Telindus in Proximus Luxembourg

Proximus heeft aangekondigd zijn zakelijke en consumentenactiviteiten, Telindus Luxembourg en Tango, te fuseren in een nieuwe bedrijf genaamd Proximus Luxembourg. Het nieuwe bedrijf komt onder leiding te staan van Gerard Hoffman, CEO, en Jean-François Willame, Co-CEO en Integration Officer. Proximus narrows gap with Telenet in broadband market

Proximus and Telenet strengthened their duopoly on the Belgian fixed market in 2015. At the same time Proximus narrowed the gap with market leader Telenet in the Belgian consumer broadband market. According to the latest research by Telecompaper, Proximus increased its share of broadband connections by 1.9 percent points last year to 42.5 percent at year-end, while Telenet's share fell by 0.8 percent points over the same period to 43.2 percent of connections. Quad play belangrijker speelveld op Belgische duopolie-markt

De Belgische consumentenmarkt voor vaste telecomdiensten was het laatste kwartaal van 2015 goed voor een omzet van ongeveer 680 miljoen euro. Telenet blijft de grootste in zowel omzet als aantal breedbandaansluitingen, ook nadat de Vlaamse kabelaanbieder een aantal klanten heeft overgeheveld naar zijn zakelijke tak.
