BIPT: merendeel consumenten tevreden over diensten

Consumenten zijn in het algemeen tevreden over telecomdiensten, schrijft het BIPT. De jaarlijkse enquête over de Belgische telecommarkt is uitgevoerd via vragenlijsten bij huishoudens. Mobiel internet wordt in 2015 gebruikt door 40 procent van de consumenten, tegen 18 procent in 2012. Het aandeel van gebruikers dat problemen heeft ondervonden met zijn operator is licht gedaald (46% in 2015 tegenover 50% een jaar eerder). Mobistar returns to growth in Q3

Belgian mobile operator Mobistar raised its full-year outlook after reporting a return to growth in service revenues and adjusted EBITDA in the third quarter. The Orange subsidiary now expects to reach the high end of its guidance for restated EBITDA in 2015 of EUR 260-280 million. This excludes the cost of launching its cable broadband offer, which is still awaiting the final regulatory decision on wholesale pricing. Belgium looks to catch up in mobile internet adoption

Smartphone penetration is still low in Belgium and prices for plans with a large amount of data remain higher than in neighbouring countries. The government has recently started a campaign to increase the use of mobile internet. Total non-voice revenues have increased over the past year, but total mobile service revenues were still lower than last year, despite a growth in customers.

Liberty Global heeft de Europese Commissie voorstellen gedaan om de overname van Base langs de toetsing te krijgen, blijkt uit een update op de website van de Europese Commissie. Uit de documentatie blijkt dat Liberty Global op 14 september concessies heeft ingediend, maar de inhoud is niet vrijgegeven. 5 oktober geldt nu als voorlopige deadline voor het onderzoek, dat op 17 augustus is begonnen met een formele melding door Liberty Global.
