Casema

Company Profile Breedband Nederland 11 NOV 2007
Casema
Casema is the third-largest cable company in the Netherlands with more than 1.4 million subscribers to its services. The Casema network, whose traditional task has been to transport radio and television signals to private households, is located mainly in the central and south western parts of the Netherlands. Casema has evolved from a cable network operator to a triple play service provider: during 2004 the company launched internet services under its own brand name and re-launched digital TV services, during 2005, the company has launched digital telephony as well. In 2006, Casema was bought by Warburg Pincus and Cinven and merged with Multikabel and Essent Kabelcom under the holding company Zesko. On 23 September, Zesko Holding, which unites the recently merged Dutch cable operators Casema, @Home and Multikabel, reached an agreement with unions on a social plan. The plan is based on keeping on board as many staff as possible; those who are not kept within the company will be given assistance in finding a new job. The plan has been approved by the works councils and unions after four months of negotiations. This research profile offers an overview of all Casema's activities and operations and outlines the most important business issues. This is the last profile made about @home alone, it is now included a new company profile about Ziggo/Zesko.
