The long-awaited outcome of KPN's FTTC and FTTH trials will be published on 15 December 2009. Telecompaper doesn't expect any fireworks, but rather some clarification on the company's FTTx roadmap for the next several years, around both FTTH, FTTC and VDSL from the Central Office. For the mix to fit the company's overall strategic goals, KPN will have to weigh a wide range of input, regarding demand, financials, competition and its relation with Reggefiber. In this brief, we will provide a large number of potential arguments for KPN to go with either FTTH or VDSL2.
