TIM gifts up to 12 months of Canva Pro to TIM Star members

Telecom Italia (TIM) has launched a new promotion for customers signed up to the TIM Star loyalty programme, this time offering free access to the Pro version of browser-based graphic design platform Canva, reports Mondo Mobile Web. Under the promo, all TIM customers will be able to access six months of Canva Pro for free, while convergent customers will be offered 12-month subscription.

AST SpaceMobile has raised USD 1.0 billion for its mobile satellite platform in an issue of convertible debt notes. The private offering to institutional investors of the notes due 2034 resulted in an interest rate of 1.625 percent. The initial conversion price is USD 79.57 per share, a small premium of 2 percent over the most recent trading price of the Class A stock. An option is available for two weeks to buy USD 150 million more of the notes at the same terms.

Crusoe and Lancium have announced plans to develop a 1 GW AI data centre campus in Childress, Texas, extending the partnership model the companies have previously deployed in Abilene. The grid-connected campus will occupy a 270-acre site owned by Lancium and is intended to support the AI computing requirements of an unnamed hyperscale technology company. Brazil has reached the halfway mark of its Connected North (Norte Conectado) programme, the world's largest underwater river cable internet initiative, reported Broadcast, part of the O Estado de Sao Paulo group. Funded by BRL 1.5 billion from the 2021 5G licence auction, the project has successfully laid 6,630 kilometres of fibre-optic cable. Italian operator WindTre has launched a new low-cost unlimited data plan in its Go-branded range for customers of rival companies porting their number. Australia extends superfast broadband access regulation until 2030

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has decided to extend declaration of the Superfast Broadband Access Service (SBAS) for a further four years, concluding that continued regulation remains in the long-term interests of telecommunications users. In its final report following a public inquiry, the ACCC said the declaration will now remain in force until July 2030 and that the service description will be updated to remove obsolete terms.

Hong Kong mobile subscriptions drop by nearly 68,000 in March as 5G, data usage rise

Hong Kong lost 67,730 mobile lines in March, ending the month with a total of 34.37 million mobile lines, according to the latest figures from the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA). The prepay base stood at 23.46 million in March, down from 23.57 in February, while the number of postpaid lines increased to 10.90 million from 10.86 million.

NTT Docomo has spun out a startup focused on robot integration control technology and physical AI as part of its internal new business creation programme, docomo Startup.
