
China Telecom led the growth in mobile subscribers in China in October, with a net increase of 1.58 million, ending the month with 371.24 million in total. China Mobile saw a net increase of 1.40 million customers in the month, and remains the largest operator on the local market with a total of 957.10 million mobile customers. China Unicom ended October with 316.83 million mobile customers, up by 1.28 million from September.
China Mobile claimed the biggest gain in 5G subscribers, growing by nearly 24.3 million in October to 355.52 million 5G customers. China Telecom added nearly 13 million 5G users in the month to reach a total of 168.49 million, and China Unicom counted 143.51 million 5G customers in October, up by 6.56 million from the previous month.
China Mobile also showed the strongest growth in the wireline broadband market, adding 2.96 million for a total of 238.32 million. China Unicom grew by 959,000 new customers to a total of 93.95 million, and China Telecom added 980,000 new customers for a base of 168.62 million broadband subscribers.
