Clearwire promotes COO Prusch to CEO

US Wimax operator Clearwire announced the promotion of its chief operating officer Erik Prusch to president and CEO. John Stanton, the company's chairman and interim CEO, will become executive chairman. Both changes are effective immediately. Prusch joined Clearwire in August 2009 as CFO and led the efforts to raise over USD 6 billion for the company. He was promoted to COO in March. Prior to joining Clearwire, Prusch served as CEO and CFO of Borland Software and was VP of Finance at Intuit, CFO of Identix and CFO at Gateway Computers. Stanton took over as CEO in March when Bill Morrow resigned from the position citing personal reasons. Clearwire did not say how he and Prusch would share executive duties.
