Dtac appoints Bharti Airtel's Sehgal as CFO
Thai operator Total Access Communication (Dtac) has appointed Nakul Sehgal as its chief financial officer. He replaces Dilip Pal, who decided to leave the company. Sehgal most recently served as corporate CFO at Indian mobile operator Bharti Airtel. Sehgal previously held CFO positions at Malaysian operator Digi, Telenor Hungary and Telenor India. 

Dtac plans to announced the effective date of Sehgal’s appointment by 31 December. Sirawit Klabdee will serve as dtac’s interim CFO from 1 November until Sehga officially takes up his new CEO position.

Thai operator Total Access Communication (dtac) has appointed Nakul Sehgal as its CFO. Sehgal will replace Dilip Pal, effective 12 January 2021. Dtac has also announced that Sirawit Klabdee will continue to serve as its interim CFO until 11 January 2021.

Dtac to launch iPhone 12 lineup on 27 November

Thai operator dtac will offer the new iPhone 12 lineup, including iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 mini on the local market. Dtac customers will be able to order the new iPhone 12 lineup starting 20 November. The devices will be commercially available in Thailand starting with 27 November 2020.

Dtac, ASEFA develop IoT services for smart energy management

Thai operator Total Access Communication (Dtac) has partnered with ASEFA, a manufacturer and distributor of main distribution switch boards, to develop Smart Monitoring and Service Care Solution for Main Distribution Boards (MDB). The service features real-time monitoring with readouts to monitor temperature and humidity. The service can also forecast power demand, display real-time power consumption monitoring and also increase power efficiency.

Dtac, PTT pilot 5G mmWave use case in Thailand

Thai operator Total Access Communication (Dtac) has teamed up with national energy conglomerate PTT to pilot 5G use cases on 26 GHz spectrum in Wangchan Valley, Rayong. Dtac says this is the first real-life use case for mmWave 5G on the local market. Under a "smart city" concept, the project will start with remotely operated video surveillance cameras, ensuring constant monitoring of physical distancing measures.

Dtac, Garena, BMN to hand out 130,000 SIMs for for Free Fire gamers

Thai operator Total Access Communication (Dtac) has introduced its 'Great Signal, Great Price, Great Jai-D Service' campaign, in cooperation with Garena and Bangkok Metro Network (BMN). Under this campaign, Dtac will offer 130,000 free Gamer SIMs. The free prepaid SIMs are bundled with special in-game items for Free Fire gamers who purchase the Free Fire Limited Edition MRT top-up pass.

Dtac's Q3 service revenue plunges nearly 8%, customer base declines

Thai operator Total Access Communication (Dtac) ended the third quarter with a total subscriber base of 18.7 million, which represents a decline of 107,000 users quarter-on-quarter. The subscriber loss was mainly due to the slow recovery from the COVID-19 crisis and aggressive competition, Dtac said. Telenor raises FY forecast for growth in underlying EBITDA thanks to cost cuts

Telenor said it now expects to report a small increase in underlying EBITDA this year, after a return to growth in the third quarter. Organic subscription and traffic revenue is still expected to show a low single-digit decline as some countries in Asia, such as Thailand and Malaysia, are affected by lower revenues due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Thai operator Total Access Communication (Dtac) has introduced special rewards to encourage customers using the Direct Operator Billing or Pay Via dtac services to verify their identities online. The e-KYC feature supports online purchase of apps, game items, Line stickers. Under this campaign, Dtac customers who register for e-KYC will receive a THB 20 credit for their next purchase.

Dtac brings new iPad to Thailand

Thai operator Dtac has launched the eighth-generation iPad, featuring a 10.2-inch Liquid Retina display and the A12 Bionic chip. Dtac has also announced it will provide its customers with 0 percent interest for installment up to 36 months and 20 percent discounts on Apple accessories. Separately, dtac customers will receive 50GB iCloud storage for three months.

Dtac names interim CFO after CFO resignation

Thai operator Total Access Communication Public Company (Dtac) announced the resignation of Dilip Pal from the position of chief financial officer, effective from 31 October. Pal, who has served as the company's CFO since 2017, decided to leave the company and Thailand to pursue new opportunities. In this regard Sirawit Klabdee will be the interim CFO, effective from 1 November. Klabdee has been with dtac since 2011 and currently holds the position as SVP, Head of Business Finance Division.
