Dtac launches 4G services in Bangkok
Thai mobile operator Dtac has launched 4G services in capital Bangkok, the operator said in a statement. Dtac said that the new service will be available at 300 base stations covering inner Bangkok areas including Silom, Sathorn, Rama 4, Sukhumvit, Rama 9 and Ratchada. The operator estimates that there are over 500,000 smartphones and tablets in the service areas. The company said that it will offer a 4G free trial of 4 GB for four months.

Thai mobile operator Total Access Communication (Dtac) has launched has launched 4G services in the northeast in the city of Khon Kaen. Dtac customers in Khon Kaen can apply for a 4G free trial for 4 months by dialing a special short code. Dtac's 4G coverage area is focused on communities with high data usage. Thai mobile operator Dtac expects to reach approximately 1 million LTE subscribers by the end of this year, the company said in a statement. Earlier this month, the operator launched 4G services in the capital Bangkok, through spectrum in the 2,100 MHz band. DTAC tests LTE service in Bangkok

Thai mobile operator DTAC is testing its 2.1 GHz LTE service in several inner-Bangkok areas. DTAC said it will commercially launch the service "in the future" but did not provide a time line. The testing looks at data download and upload speed, voice call quality, and seamless handover between the 4G LTE and TriNet networks. The operator said the 4G LTE drive test achieved exceptional results and met all the standards.

DTAC TriNet, a subsidiary of Thai mobile operator DTAC, has launched its 4G/LTE network. DTAC selected Ericsson for its 4G/LTE network deployment. Ericsson is the sole supplier for user data management, evolved packet core and circuit core services. The 4G/LTE on 2100MHz rollout started in February this year. DTAC TriNet's 4G/LTE services will initially be available for users in Bangkok Metropolitan area.
