Motorola unveils retail agreements for Xoom tablet
Motorola Mobility announced that the Best Buy and Dixons Retail (Currys and PC World) in the UK as well as Deutsche Telekom in selected markets will be selling the Motorola Xoom Android tablet. The device runs on the Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS. Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy will launch the Motorola Xoom 3G/Wi-Fi and Currys and PC World will launch the Xoom Wi-Fi in Q2 2011.

Motorola plans more tablets

Motorola Mobility, which began selling its Xoom tablet computer last week, said sales have started "relatively well" at Verizon Wireless and it plans to introduce tablets with other carriers this year. Motorola Mobility will introduce models this year based on Android software that are smaller than the 10-inch Xoom, CEO Sanjay Jha told analysts at a conference in San Francisco, reported by Bloomberg. Verizon confirms Motorola Xoom launch for 24 February

Verizon Wireless will offer the Motorola Xoom tablet from 24 February. Unveiled earlier this year, the Xoom runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb and a 1GHz dual-core processor, with a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display. The tablet will sell for USD 599.99 with a new two-year customer agreement at Verizon or USD 799.99 without a contract. 3G data service starts at USD 20 per month for 1GB, and the Motorola Xoom will be upgradeable to LTE service at no additional charge in the second quarter of 2011.

Motorola benoemt resellers Xoom in Europa

Motorola heeft bekend gemaakt dat The Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, Currys en PC World (Verenigd Koninkrijk) de Xoom-tablet zullen gaan verkopen. Ook operator Deutsche Telekom zal het apparaat zelf en via dochers in diverse markten in de schappen leggen. The Carphone Warehouse en Best Buy lanceren de Xoom (3G/wifi) in Q2 van dit jaar. In hetzelfde kwartaal brengen Currys en PC World de WiFi-only versie van de tablet op de markt. Eerder liet Motorola weten dat de Xoom voor 799 dollar van de hand moet gaan.

Motorola Xoom kost 799 dollar

MWC - De Motorola Xoom-tablet zal ongesubsidieerd voor 799 dollar in de schappen komen te liggen bij de Amerikaanse operator Verizon Wireless. De WiFi-only versie moet 600 dollar kosten. Dat maakte Motorola's co-CEO Sanjay Jha bekend tijdens het Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Jha zei verder dat bijna alle producten die Motorola dit jaar op de markt brengt zijn uitgerust met Google's besturingssysteem Android. SK Telecom to introduce Motorola's Xoom tablet in April

South Korean operator SK Telecom said it will introduce Motorola Mobility's Xoom tablet computer in the domestic market in April, reports Yonhap.
