Orange Poland has signed an agreement with the Lodz Special Economic Area (SEE) on the deployment of an indoor 5G network operating in the 3.6 GHz band. The network will be completed in early 2021, and 5G services will be available across the premises of the Lodz SEE.
The network will be used for the needs of the LSEE 5G Lab. Start-ups focused on 5G-based solutions will have access to the first indoor 5G network using the 3.6 GHz band in the country. Ericsson will act as a technological partner of the project, providing its 5G Radio Dot equipment for the project.
The network will also provide LTE services, with ten antennas operating on the 2,100 MHz and 3.6 GHz bands. Around 1,000 m2 will be covered in two buildings. Broadband speeds over 850 Mbps with low latency are expected under the coverage of the network.
