Paramount+ to air Premier League in Latin America

ViacomCBS Networks said it has reached a deal with the Premier League to air live matches from the top-tier English football league on its Paramount+ platform in Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama on an exclusive basis. The three-year deal with the Premier League also includes rights on a non-exclusive basis in Belize and the Dominican Republic.

Paramount+ subscribers in the covered markets will have access to 380 live matches a season, along with a feed featuring 24/7 coverage of the competition and exclusive content offering an inside look at the clubs and players. The platform was launched in 18 countries in Latin America last March, becoming the home of Showtime, Paramount+ Original Series premieres, CBS Television Studios and select titles from Paramount Pictures, MTV, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and Telefe.

The partnership with the Premier Leagues marks is the first live sports offering of Paramount+ in Latin America, aligning with the streaming service’s strategy in the US and Australia.

Claro Video to air Premier League games in Mexico

America Movil's Claro Video service in Mexico confirmed that it will be airing games from the top-tier English football league at no extra cost on its streaming platform starting next month as part of its content deal with rights owner Paramount+. A total of 380 Premier League games will be available to all Claro Video subscribers, even those on basic plans, said Claro Video in a tweet published ahead of the first Premier League game on 05 August.

ViacomCBS Networks Americas has launched a summer promo to encourage users to sign up to its streaming service Paramount+ in Latin America.
