SFR launches football content offer with Amazon Prime, BeIN Sport and RMC Sport

French operator SFR has announced the availability of a TV package bundling Amazon Prime, BeIN Sport and RMC Sport for EUR 24 per month. Subscribers can add Amazon's EUR 12.99 football channel (Le Pass Ligue 1) to complete the bundle, bringing the total monthly cost to EUR 36.99 with a twelve-month contract. Without BeIN Sport (worth EUR 14.99/month), SFR fixed and mobile subscribers can opt for a combination of Amazon Prime and RMC Sport for EUR 14/month.

Purchased alone, RMC Sport is currently available to SFR customers for EUR 9/month subject to a twelve-month commitment, discounted from the standard price of EUR 19/month.

BeIN Sports renews French rights to Seria A football matches

BeIN Sports France has renewed its rights deal for Italy's Serie A games until 2024, airing at least five fixtures on each match day from this weekend.  Announced by a company executive on Twitter, the news follows similar agreements for the rights to two other major European football tournaments. As reported by L'Equipe, BeIN Sports' French pay-TV customers will continue to have access to Spain's top league La Liga (until 2024) and Germany's Bundesliga (until 2025).

Canal Plus stops distributing Altice France's RMC Sport

French pay-TV operator Canal Plus will no longer distribute Altice's RMC Sport channels as part of its content offering, reports Media Sportif. The development emerged after the broadcaster started informing satellite subscribers of the change, and has since been confirmed via its Twitter customer support service.

French football fans have been able to watch the first match aired on Amazon's new Ligue 1 channel, which has been named "Le pass Ligue 1". New subscribers can take advantage of a seven-day free trial, with no minimum contract required.

Canal Plus to share Champions League rights with Altice France's RMC Sport

French broadcaster Canal Plus has reached an agreement to share its exclusive rights for UEFA's Champions League matches with SFR's sister company RMC Sport, part of Altice France. Starting this month, the contract covers two "first-choice" matches each week and the Champions League final, for the duration of the 2021-2024 three-season cycle.
