T-Mobile launches LTE-A in Czech Republic
T-Mobile Czech Republic launched a LTE Advanced (LTE-A) network in the city Mlada Boleslav. T-Mobile is the first operator in the country to offer LTE-A. The operator joined a 10 MHz block from the 800 MHz band and a 20 MHz block from the 1800 MHz band to launch the LTE-A services, offering a theoretical maximum speed of 225/50 Mbps. 

Using carrier aggregation, the download speed can be increased to a theoretical speed of 300/50 Mbps when connecting two 20 MHz bands and using a LTE category 6 device. T-Mobile is also increasing coverage and speeds in the capital Prague, where some locations offer LTE at 150/50 Mbps.

T-Mobile Czech Republic reported first-half revenues of CZK 11.977 billion, up 1.2 percent from a year earlier thanks to strong handset sales. O2 Czech Republic deploys LTE Advanced

O2 Czech Republic has deployed LTE Advanced (LTE-A) in selected locations. The technology allows the usage of several frequency ranges simultaneously, which can increase speed. The technology is already available in the southeastern part of Vysocina. Using frequency blocks of 10 and 5 MHz and dedicated devices, a download speed of 112 Mbps can be reached. O2 is also testing carrier aggregation with blocks of 10 and 15 MHz to support download speeds of up to 185 Mbps.

T-Mobile Czech Republic increased speeds on its LTE network in Prague to 112.5 Mbps download and 37.5 Mbps upload, reports Mobilnet.cz. T-Mobile achieved the upgrade by broadening the spectrum band from 10 to 15 MHz. T-Mobile Czech Republic has begun commercial operation of its LTE 800 network in Pilsen-South and several locations in Prague, reports Mobilnet.cz. Vodafone Czech Republic launched a two-month test of its LTE network in the 800 MHz band on an initial seven transmitters in Velka Bites and environs. Vodafone Czech Republic extends LTE 900 MHz coverage

Vodafone Czech Republic now covers 81 percent of the population and 54 percent of the territory with its Turbo Internet service, which uses 3G and LTE 900 MHz technology, reports Mobilnet.cz. Telefonica CR plans 90% mobile broadband population coverage

Telefonica Czech Republic is extending its LTE coverage, reports Mobilnet.cz. By the end of the year, the operator plans to complete its coverage of Prague and Brno and environs. According to Tomas Zetek, director of O2 products and services, the operator covers selected locations with the enhanced 3G standard HSPA+, supporting download speeds up to 42 Mbps. O2's LTE network offers 75 Mbps downloads and in selected locations, it plans to strengthen the network to provide 110 Mbps.

By the end of the year, T-Mobile Czech Republic plans to cover 93 percent of the population and 80 percent of the territory with a combination of 3G and LTE, reports Mobilnet.cz. Before 2014 is out, its LTE network alone will cover 51 percent of the population and 73 percent of the territory.
