Telstra, Huawei carry out LTE demo at 1800MHz in Australia
Telstra and Huawei Technologies have demonstrated LTE technology operating on 1800MHz spectrum in Australia. This spectrum will complement 2600MHz spectrum and the 700MHz band anticipated to be made available through the digital dividend. Telstra and Huawei are trialling LTE technology in Victoria to understand the technology's characteristics and application in the evolution of the operator's Next G network. The 1800MHz evaluation will include tests of throughput using MIMO antenna configurations as well as inter cell interference coordination and self organising networks where LTE technology automatically optimises its performance.

Telstra launches LTE services

Telstra has officially launched LTE services in central business districts of the capital city and more than 30 regional and metropolitan centres. Telstra achieves 149.4Mbps LTE download speed

Telstra has reached download speeds of up to 149.4Mbps as part of a LTE mobile technology trial with Huawei. Two trials were conducted using the 1800MHz spectrum in Box Hill in Melbourne, Australia over the last six months.
