Turkcell plans IPO of Global Tower
Turkcell's board of directors approved an initial public offering of shares in Kule Hizmet ve Isletmecilik (Global Tower). Turkcell owns 100 percent of this operator of telecom and broadcasting towers throughout Turkey which started its activity in 2006. Global Tower claims to be the third-largest towers and infrastructure operator in Europe. Turkcell said it will amend the existing articles of association of Global Tower and start the regulatory procedures for listing the company. Further details of the IPO were not disclosed.

Turkcell pulls Global Tower IPO at last minute

Turkcell has shelved plans for an IPO of its infrastructure arm, citing a wide range of potential disruptions to financial markets. Turkcell announced earlier this year the plan to list Global Tower, and the company was expected to start trading 27 October. However, Turkcell said factors such as the upcoming US presidential election, expected increase in interest rates by the US Federal Reserve and the recent major cyberattack on global websites led to the decision to halt the listing.

Turkcell, Turk Telekom settle lawsuits 

Turkcell and Turk Telekom reached an agreement to mutually settle the ongoing lawsuits, enforcement procedures and disputes between Turkcell Group companies and Turk Telekom Group companies. In this regard, Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri will make a payment of TRY 225 million to Turk Telekom Group which is the net of right, receivables and claims of both parties (excluding VAT and special communication tax, including all other tax and financial obligations and interest).
