Vivendi files new suit against T-Mobile in US
Vivendi has filed a new law suit in the US against T-Mobile over the disputed ownership of Polish mobile operator PTC. Filed under the US Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), the complaint alleges that T-Mobile has illegally appropriated Vivendi's USD 2.5 billion investment in PTC, "through a pattern of fraud and racketeering". T-Mobile USA, T-Mobile Deutschland, Deutsche Telekom and Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, who controls Elektrim, Vivendi's joint venture partner for the investment in PTC, are all named in the suit. Viviendi claims that T-Mobile colluded with Solorz-Zak in a pattern of racketeering activity over US wires to unlawfully take over PTC and corrupt Elektrim. Vivendi is calling for its investment to be refunded or the PTC shares to be returned.
