Orange France’s new Livebox will become available on 19 May. Previewed at the Hello Show on 16 March, the new Livebox combines Wi-Fi n (2.4 GHz) and Wi-Fi ac (5 GHz) technologies to deliver up to 1.9 Gbps connectivity to meet the expectations of customers who now have an average of over seven screens connected at a time in the home. The operator's My Livebox application allows customers to test Wi-Fi quality in every room to optimise the home configuration for maximum coverage.
The new Livebox and TV decoder are offered with the new Play and Jet offers, starting at EUR 39.99 and EUR 47.99 a month, respectively. Orange is including a 4G Airbox with its new Livebox to connect equipment immediately to the mobile network pending installation and connection. With the "4G Airbox Confort" option, customers also have internet access when away from home.
Orange also offers the Livebox Storage option, a 1 TB hard drive capable of storing 500,000 photos or 500 1.5 hour HD videos, all of which can be accessed remotely via the Orange Cloud application. The new Livebox supports Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos sound.
UHD content to become available from 19 May for Orange fibre customers includes eight Euro 2016 matches on the TF1 and M6 channels, films and TV series on OCS Go and OCS Max, and UHD programming on Canal Plus, Ultra Nature, Netflix and Orange VoD. Orange is accompanying the launch with specials such as three months of Netflix Ultra HD and Orange VoD films for permanent downloads for new fibre customers.
