
Russian messenger Telegram has appealed to the European Human Rights Court (EHRC) on the RUB 800,000 fine imposed on the company by a Russian court, reports Vedomosti. The messenger was fined for its refusal to disclose its encryption keys to the Federal Security Service (FSB). The keys would enable the FSB to access the messages of Telegram users. Telegram considers such a requirements a violation of the Convention on Human Rights and has asked the European court to consider its case.
