TIM offering unlimited data in coronavirus areas
Telecom Italia (TIM) has begun contacting customers living in areas hit by the coronavirus outbreak in northern Italy to offer them unlimited mobile data, reports Mondo Mobile Web. In an SMS sent to selected clients, the operator said the “unlimited data” option will be automatically activated for 30 days starting 27 February and capped at 500GB. 

The move comes after TIM last week announced the temporary suspension of its “Operazione Risorgimento Digitale” ("Operation Digital Renaissance") education project and roadshow in view of the spread of the coronavirus in northern Italian provinces, which has led to whole towns being quarantined.

TIM launches 'E-learning Card' with free access to Italian online education platforms

Telecom Italia (TIM) has joined forces with the Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research (MIUR) to launch a new initiative designed to promote digital distance learning and reduce inequality during the coronavirus emergency. Under the plan, TIM is making available an "E-learning Card" so that all prepaid consumer mobile phone customers with an active data subscription can access the main remote learning platforms without using up their data bundle.

Telecom Italia (TIM) has activated 5,000 cabinets in digital divide areas throughout the country to reinforce a network facing a substantial traffic increase as a result of the coronavirus lockdown. Italy's Rabona Mobile offers bonus 10GB for coronavirus

Italian MVNO Rabona Mobile has responded to the government's 'digital solidarity' call by offering all customers subscribed to plans with up 20GB a bonus 10GB of free data on Vodafone's network for a month to help them through the coronavirus emergency. TIM's charitable arm said it will distribute EUR 250,00 each to Milan's San Raffaele Hospital, the CORIS Consortium for Health Research in Veneto, Rome's Spallanzani Hospital and the IRCCS G.
