
Vodafone, Telekom oppose O2, E-Plus network merger

Vodafone believes that the proposed merger of E-Plus and O2 (Telefonica Deutschland) will have a strongly negative impact on competition in the German mobile market. Vodafone's head of regulatory affairs, Stephan Korehnke, told 'Focus' magazine that competition would be significantly distorted if the networks can merge without having to give anything up. Rival Deutsche Telekom has called for mobile spectrum to be reallocated if the merger goes ahead.
