ZTE expects profit to soar 78-125% in Q3

ZTE reported preliminary results for the third quarter and first nine months of 2021. The net profit for Q3 is expected to jump 78-125 percent year-on-year to CNY 1.52-1.92 billion, with basic earnings per share rising to CNY 0.33-0.41 from 0.19 the year before. 

For the first nine months of the year, the net profit leaped 106-121 percent to CNY 5.6-6.0 billion, with basic EPS lifting to CNY 1.21-1.29 from 0.59.

ZTE reported stronger results for the first half, saying it was able ensure the security and stability of its own supply chain. ZTE expects to improved profitability for full-year 2021, with double-digit revenue growth. Preliminary figures show net profit from ordinary operations jumping around 60 percent to CNY 6.5-7.2 billion, and the net profit after extraordinary items leaping at least 190 percent to CNY 3.0-3.5 billion, with basic earnings per share at CNY 1.40-1.55.

ZTE reported third-quarter operating revenue up 14.2 percent year-on-year to CNY 30.75 billion, its best quarterly growth in three years. The net profit more than doubled, increasing 125.4 percent to CNY 1.23 billion after extraordinary items thanks to a number of one-time investment and valuation gains.

ZTE has introduced its compact metro edge ON products, the optical omni-gateway ZXMP M721 series, namely ZXMP M721 CX66A (E) and ZXMP M721 CX63A (E). The products can support all-scenario access of 4G/5G/home broadband/enterprise/cloud services with unified cross connection. In addition, they are applicable to the aggregation layer and access layer of a MAN(Metro Area Network) or local network to power operators' optical network deployment.

ZTE has signed a cooperation agreement with China Telecom Global in Hong Kong. Under the terms of the agreement, ZTE and China Telecom plan to expand their cooperation in cloud network services, ICT, data centres and global operation in the DICT field.

The FCC will start accepting applications for funding to replace Huawei and ZTE equipment on 29 October. The window for applications will remain open until 14 January 2022. Details on the requirements of the funding are available on the commission's website.

ZTE obtains China Mobile section 4 router procurement selection

ZTE said it has obtained 50 percent of section 4 of China Mobile's high-end router and switch centralised procurement 2021-2022 and will supply the routers ZXR10 M6000-18 S and ZXR10 M6000-8S Plus. This section is the largest in China Mobile's centralised procurement for routers, covering the largest number of equipment items.

ZTE said revenues for the first half more than doubled to CNY 4.1 billion from 1.8 billion the year before, with basic and diluted earnings per share rising to a better-than-expected CNY 0.88 from 0.40.

ZTE announced revenues of CNY 74.13 billion for the first nine months of 2020, an increase of 15.4 percent from the year-earlier period. The company's growth accelerated in the third quarter, to 37.2 percent to CNY 26.93 billion in revenue, compared to a 5.8 percent increase in sales reported for the first half of the year.
