This report estimates the value of the Dutch video market, consisting of both the traditional pay-TV market (TV) and the internet-based (over-the-top) services market (OTT video). It offers an overview of Dutch consumer TV and video revenues in the second quarter of 2025, and compares the findings with results from previous quarters.
The report covers revenues generated by more than 25 companies in the Netherlands ranging from TV operators including Ziggo, KPN, Delta, Caiway, Canal Digitaal, Odido and Tele2, premium-TV providers like Film1, ESPN Compleet, Viaplay TV+ and Ziggo Sport Totaal as well as OTT video services including Netflix, Videoland, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Pathé Thuis, Viaplay, HBO Max, SkyShowtime and Canal+.
This study contains figures on service revenues. We calculate the revenues based on customer numbers reported in our Dutch Consumer TV Market report and information from the Telecompaper Consumer Insights Panel. The focus is on revenues generated by Pay-TV services and OTT-Video services. We distinguish between operator-billed managed services and direct-to-consumer OTT services. We have split both segments into several sub-segments. Free AVOD (advertising-supported) services are not included.
Summary 2025Q2
TV-Video market revenue growth slows to 1.9 percent year-on-year in Q2 2025 to EUR 747 million, after weak quarter for basic TV and Netflix, and strong growth in Premium channels. Viaplay TV+ added as Premium channel, and Canal+ SVOD and YouTube Premium retroactively from Q2 2024.
