SVOD market contracts after initial lockdown leads to growth spurt

With new lockdown measures taking effect to combat a second wave of coronavirus infections, we look here at the impact of the first lockdown on SVOD subscriptions. Figures from Telecompaper's Consumer Insights panel show the total number of subscribers in the Netherlands rose to over 6 million in April. Once the restrictions were relaxed a couple months later, the number fell by 7 percent.

Ziggo schakelt regio Breda eind november om naar digitale tv

VodafoneZiggo zal het analoge tv-signaal in de regio Breda in de nacht van maandag 23 november op dinsdag 24 november afschakelen. Vanaf dan biedt Ziggo enkel nog digitale kabeltelevisie in de regio. De stap valt in het kader van de 'Schakelmee'-campagne die het bedrijf in maart 2018 startte, waarbij het regio voor regio het analoge signaal uitzet. Inmiddels kijken bijna drie miljoen Ziggo-klanten volledig digitaal tv.
