French telecom service revenues slow in Q3 with drop of 1.1%

French telecom operators saw third-quarter service revenues across fixed, mobile and added-value services decline 1.1 percent year-on-year to EUR 7.77 billion, accelerating the 0.1 percent drop registered in Q2, according to regulator Arcep. SFR struggling to turn postpaid net adds into revenue growth

The French mobile market saw steady growth in the number of Sims in the third quarter, at 3.5 percent year-on-year, but the service revenues are trailing. All operators are growing their customer bases at a higher rate than service revenues, a problem particularly clear at SFR, where the number of mobile customers grew by 4 percent while service revenues declined 8 percent.
