Former Debitel CEO becomes Sunrise CEO
TDC subsidiary and Swiss telecom operator Sunrise has named Oliver Steil as CEO, taking over from Christoph Brand who has served as CEO for four years. Steil was CEO of German mobile service provider Debitel before its sale to Freenet and a partner at the telecommunications unit of McKinsey & Company. Brand decided to leave the company at his own request to take on a new challenge as CEO of Swiss insurance software developer Adcubum per 15 October of this year.

Sunrise is planning to offer TV, shows large mobile growth

TDC subsidiary and Swiss telecom operator Sunrise is winning a lot of mobile customers from former merger partner Orange Switzerland, according to Sunrise CEO Christoph Brand cited by Swiss newspaper Handelszeitung. France Telecom, TDC terminate Sunrise-Orange agreement

France Telecom and TDC have terminated their agreement concerning the planned merger of Orange Switzerland and TDC subsidiary Sunrise. France Telecom and TDC recently concluded a detailed analysis of their available options. Sunrise sees net profit grow to CHF 48 mln, revenues up 2.5%

TDC subsidiary and Swiss telecommunications operator Sunrise reports revenues of CHF 495 million for the first quarter of this year, growing by 2.5 percent year-on-year. The customer base of Sunrise grew by 1.1 percent to 2.85 million driven by 5.2 percent mobile customer growth and 5.5 percent ADSL customer growth. Oliver Steil leaves as Debitel CEO

Oliver Steil will step down as CEO from Debitel management board, effective immediately. The supervisory board of debitel has appointed Eckhard Spoerr as CEO and Stephan Esch as Chief IT Officer. Both will take on their respective position with immediate effect.
