SingTel ups stake in Bharti Airtel
Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) will buy a 3.62 percent stake in Bharti Telecom from MacRitchie Investments to increase its stake in the linked company Bharti Airtel. Following the SGD 383.58 million transaction, SingTel's stake in Bharti Telecom will grow to 39.78 percent from the current 36.16 percent and its effective interest in Bharti Airtel will increase from 30.76 percent to 32.34 percent. SingTel expects the deal to close on 28 August.

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) has completed its acquisition of 788,538 in Bharti Telecom, or a 3.62 percent share. Following the SGD 383.58 million transaction, SingTel's effective interest in the linked company Bharti Airtel has increased to 32.34 percent.
