Telenor in talks to sell operators in Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro - report
Norwegian telecom Telenor is negotiating with a US fund to sell its businesses in Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro for a price of EUR 2 billion, according to local news agency Novinite citing a report from Mergermarket. Bulgarian paper Capital confirmed from a single source that the prospective buyer has been selected as exclusive in December. A possible deal could also include Telenor's Hungarian assets.

Telenor bought its Bulgarian division three and a half years ago for EUR 717 million. Telenor Bulgaria, former Globul, had 3.23 million subscribers at the end of Q3, that's 9 percent less than a year earlier mainly due to the decrease in the number of prepaid customers. However, its ARPU grew 6 percent to BGN 14 per month.
