Vodafone Spain has announced a major revamp of its postpay mobile and convergent tariffs, adding mobile data and introducing unlimited WhatsApp, Telegram, Line, WeChat, Blackberry IM and Message+ use in exchange for monthly price hikes of between EUR 2 and EUR 5. The data included in the operator's Smart S, Red M and Red L tariffs will increase from 2, 4 and 6GB to 6, 10 and 20GB respectively, together with a price rise depending on the contracted plan. The zero-rated messaging offer is called Chat Zero and allows all postpay subscribers to send SMS, MMS, photos, videos or voice memos without consuming any data whatsoever. However, the service is limited to Spain and doesn't include VoIP voice or video calls.
In addition, the company’s convergent plans will have their bundled mobile data increased by similar amounts, with the monthly prices of Vodafone One S, M and L rising EUR 3, EUR 3 and EUR 5 a month respectively. The company will also add the FoxPlay TV service to all its convergent plans, allowing subscribers to access Fox and FoxLife series such as 24:Legacy, The Walking Dead, Outcast and Grey’s Anatomy. Vodafone’s new price plans will be introduced for all new and existing customers on 28 April.
