BlackBerry receives order for 1 mln BlackBerry 10 handsets
BlackBerry has received an order for 1 million BlackBerry 10 smartphones from one of its partners. Shipments will be delivered immediately. BlackBerry unveiled the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 smartphones on 30 January. BlackBerry Z10 is now available for purchase around the world and will be available in the US starting this month.

Orange France and SFR have started selling the BlackBerry Q10 smartphone. Bouygues Telecom said it would release the handset in June and Free has yet to make an announcement, Silicon.fr reports. BlackBerry challenges report of high Z10 return rates

Blackberry said it will ask securities regulators to investigate a report that its new phones have high return rates. Analyst firm Detwiler Fenton & Co said earlier that US retailers were seeing a high rate of customers returning the company's BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. Canadian operators Bell, Telus and Rogers Communications announced they will be the first to offer the new BlackBerry Q10 smartphone. Fifth of BlackBerry 10 apps ported from Android

After announcing last week that there were 100,000 BlackBerry 10 apps available, the company's vice president for global alliances and business development, Martyn Mallick, told AllThingsD that around 20 percent of them are Android apps using a BlackBerry 10 emulation engine.
