Macedonia operators Vip, One agree merger
Telekom Austria Group and Telekom Slovenije Group have agreed to merge their subsidiaries Vip Operator and One, both operating in the Republic of Macedonia. Telekom Austria Group will hold 55 percent and have sole control over the newly created entity, whereas Telekom Slovenije will hold 45 percent.  

The agreement also includes call and put options for the exit of Telekom Slovenije from the joint venture within three years from closing of the merger. The transaction is subject to due diligence of One, expected to be finalised by mid-November, when further information will be provided. Regulatory clearance and closing of the deal is expected for Q1 2015.  

One is the third-largest mobile operator in Macedonia with a market share of 23.6 percent and a customer base of about 528,000 at year-end 2013. In 2013, One achieved revenues and EBITDA of approximately EUR 75.5 million and EUR 14.4 million.  

Telekom Austria has been offering mobile services in Macedonia via its subsidiary Vip Operator since 2007. Having a market share of 28.1 percent and approximately 630,000 customers at end-2013, it is the second-largest operator in the country. Revenues amounted to EUR 65 million and EBITDA to EUR 14.7 million in 2013. Since the acquisition of Blizoo Macedonia in July, Telekom Austria also offers fixed-line services in the Macedonian market.

Macedonia's Agency for Electronic Communications has expressed confidence that the eventual merger of Vip Operator and One will not lead to an increase in the cost of mobile calls. Vip Operator sees 3.7% drop in Q3 revenue

Macedonian mobile operator Vip Operator ended the third quarter with revenue of EUR 17.0 million, a 3.7 percent drop on a year earlier, mainly due to a reduction in national termination rates. Vip Operator sees 13.1% drop in Q2 revenue

Macedonian mobile telephony operator Vip Operator ended the second quarter with revenue of EUR 14.3 million, a 13.1 percent drop on a year earlier. Telekom Slovenije could sell foreign subsidiaries - report

Several foreign subsidiaries of Telekom Slovenije could be sold after its privatisation, sources told Megamarket, reports Seebiz. Telekom Austria acquires Macedonia's Blizoo

The Telekom Austria Group has signed a contract to acquire 100 percent of Macedonian cable TV operator Blizoo, which offers TV services, broadband and fixed voice.
