Qualcomm authorises share buybacks of up to USD 10 billion
Qualcomm has approved a new share buyback authorization, of up to USD 10 billion. The new authorization comes in addition to the company’s existing stock repurchase programme, announced in July 2018, which still has USD 0.9 billion remaining.

Qualcomm announced plans to achieve net-zero global emissions for Scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2040 and committed to the Science Based Targets initiative's Business Ambition for 1.5 degrees C. This builds on the company's existing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goal and includes interim 2030 science-based emissions reduction targets across Scopes 1, 2 and 3.

Qualcomm has appointed Ann Chaplin as general counsel and corporate secretary, reporting directly to Cristiano Amon, president and CEO, effective 01 November. Don Rosenberg, general counsel and corporate secretary since 2007, will serve as Special Advisor for Policy, Regulation and Strategic Initiatives until his retirement at the end of 2021.

Qualcomm has appointed Ann Chaplin its new general counsel & corporate secretary, from 1 November. Chaplin will report directly to CEO Cristiano Amon. She succeeds Don Rosenberg who has served in the position since 2007. Rosenberg will become the special advisor for policy, regulation and strategic initiatives until his retirement at the end of the year.

Qualcomm Technologies said it has teamed up with numerous ecosystem leaders to boost low-latency gaming performance on Windows 11 PCs . The Wi-Fi Dual Station combined with the company's FastConnect 4-stream Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) harnesses multiple Wi-Fi bands and antennas concurrently to outperform traditional single band connections, said Qualcomm.

Qualcomm, SSW Partners reach agreement to take over Veoneer for USD 4.5 bln as Magna backs out

Qualcomm and SSW Partners said they have reached a definitive agreement to acquire automotive technology provider Veoneer for USD 37.00 per share in an all-cash transaction, representing a total of USD 4.5 billion. Veoneer has terminated its acquisition agreement with Magna International and cancelled its 19 October special meeting to authorise that deal. The transaction is expected to close in 2022.

Qualcomm has acquired Salzburg-based augmented reality software developer Wikitude for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 2008, Wikitude develops technologies for smartphones, tablets and smart glasses. The two companies have been cooperating since 2019.
