Belgian parties want Telenet to open cable network

Belgian political parties all want Telenet to open its cable network, as Belgacom did with its DSL network, a ZDNet survey showed. Telenet said it has no plans to open its cable and that regulator BIPT has to make that decision. The Belgian cable operato said opening the network is not necessary because the split between DSL and cable already guarantess competition. In addition, opening the cable would mean more investments.
