Dutch Broadband Q1 2010
This report analyses developments in the Dutch market for broadband internet access, focussing on consumers, in the first quarter of 2010, and compares the findings with results from previous periods. The analysis is based on Telecompaper's continuous research into the development of the Dutch broadband communication services market. The focus is on cable network operators (Ziggo, UPC Netherlands, Delta Kabelcomfort) and DSL network operators (KPN, Online, Tele2 Netherlands) and FTTH connections and an estimate of mobile broadband services as well.

De Nederlandse breedbandmarkt groeide in het eerste kwartaal van 2010 met 1,1 procent. Aan het eind van maart telde de markt 6,126 miljoen aansluitingen. The Dutch broadband market grew by 1.1 percent during the first quarter of 2010, to reach 6.126 million connections on 31 March 2010, according to Telecompaper's quarterly update on the Dutch broadband market. Dutch Broadband Speeds Q1 2010

This report analyses the Dutch Broadband Market based on information from iPingtest about the offered and actual down- and upload speeds to Dutch consumers. Apart from information of the actual speed of the connection, the consumers also provided information about the broadband plans they subscribe to. Based on this information we are able provide unique insight in split of customer base based on speeds, and it allow us to analyse the differences between the actual speeds as experienced by the consumer, versus the offered speeds i.e the down- and upload speed of the plan. By using this sample of the Dutch broadband population, the outcome might be biased by the type of people that install this type of software. Nevertheless, we believe this population provides a unique and unrivalled insight in the broadband market in the Netherlands.

FTTH in the Netherlands 2010

Telecompaper has published its fourth annual report on the Dutch FTTH market. including our expectations for the 2010-2014 period. For our fourth annual FTTH report, we conducted interviews with around 15 market participants. The report describes the current state of the market at the city-level and discusses numerous topics that dominate current discussions regarding the roll-out of FTTH in general and competition from HFC in particular. Included are 10 company profiles of focused FTTH market players.
