Dutch Apps Market - October 2016 edition

Dutch Apps Market is a monthly report that looks at mobile apps development in the Dutch market. The reports covers six areas: apps segments, Voice/IM apps, banking apps, video apps, music apps and gaming apps. Data on the various segments in the Dutch apps market and the penetration of voice/IM apps is provided each month. Other data on the usage and perceived quality of certain apps and app segments is provided on a rotating basis, with a different segment analysed each month.

Please see our preview pages below to see which apps are included, i.e. WhatsApp, Facebook, ING Mobiel Bankieren, Rabobankieren, Netflix, RTL XL, Candy Crush, Wordfeud, Spotify and iTunes. For all apps splits are given for:

  • market,
  • provider (KPN, Telfort, Tele2, T-Mobile, and Vodafone),
  • age,
  • gender,
  • education level,
  • pre-/postpaid,
  • Apple vs. Samsung.
In this edition the segments, banking and video apps are updated.

This report is based on the continuous online survey conducted by the Telecompaper Consumer Panel over the past twelve months. Every six months at least 10,000 consumers are asked about their use of mobile telephony, broadband connections, fixed telephony and TV, including details on their current situation, purchasing habits, usage and churn. Results are CBS stratified for gender, age (12-80) and education.

It is also possible to purchase a specific part of the report, for example just the part on banking apps. If you are interested in a specific section, please send us an email.
