Meer Nederlanders zeggen tv-abonnement op, omzet daalt vanaf 2020

De Nederlandse tv-markt bereikte zijn hoogtepunt begin 2015 met bijna 7,9 miljoen abonnees en een penetratie van meer dan 100 procent van de huishoudens. Sindsdien is het aantal abonnees elk kwartaal geleidelijk gedaald, tot iets minder dan 7,4 miljoen eind juni 2019, gelijk aan ongeveer 93 procent van alle huishoudens, zo blijkt uit het Dutch Television Market rapport van de Telecompaper over het tweede kwartaal van 2019.

KPN leads decline in Dutch TV subscribers in Q2 as Ziggo slows losses

KPN lost a net 21,000 subscribers in the three months to June, including 7,000 in IPTV and 14,000 at its digital terrestrial service Digitenne. While the DTT losses are in line with the steady decline in popularity of the service, this is the first quarterly loss in IPTV ever at KPN, according to Telecompaper.

VodafoneZiggo Q2: groei in breedband, double plays, postpaid en convergentie maar mobiele ARPU daalt

VodafoneZiggo realiseerde over het tweede kwartaal een omzetgroei van 1,5 procent, de eerste groei sinds de vorming van de onderneming. Het bedrijfsresultaat nam met 3,4 procent toe, waardoor de marge verruimde tot 45,0 procent.

T-Mobile NL Q2: abonneegroei 77k in postpaid, 21k in vast bij 1% hogere omzet

T-Mobile Nederland behaalde over het eerste kwartaal een omzet van EUR 458 miljoen (+44% door de overname van Tele2 NL) en een EBITDA van EUR 117 miljoen (+10%). Dit impliceert een EBITDA-marge van 25,5 procent, fors lager dan vorig kwartaal (31,9%).

Netflix en Videoland groeien door, live tv ook populair onder cord cutters

Als we naar de penetratie van OTT-diensten kijken, zien we – niet geheel verrassend - dat Netflix verder is gestegen: van 36 procent in Q1 2018 naar 40 procent van de huishoudens in hetzelfde kwartaal van dit jaar. Ook het Nederlandse Videoland heeft een opmars gemaakt, van 7 naar 10 procent, aldus het Video behaviour of Dutch consumers-rapport over het eerste kwartaal van 2019.

KPN presteert beter dan de Nederlandse tv-videomarkt terwijl Netflix-groei vertraagt

De Nederlandse markt voor consumenten-tv en videodiensten blijft groeien, met een omzet die in het eerste kwartaal met 4,8 procent steeg. Dat blijkt uit nieuw onderzoek van Telecompaper.

KPN outperforms on Dutch TV-video market as Netflix growth slows

Despite the popularity of Netflix in the Netherlands, OTT services still account for less than a fifth of total revenues in the TV-video market, according to Telecompaper's Dutch TV-Video Market report for Q1 2019. The OTT market share was 17.2 percent in Q1 2019, up slightly from 15.7 percent a year earlier. The segment's annual revenue growth slowed significantly, from 48 percent on an annual basis in Q1 2018 to just 14 percent this year, suggesting the market may be approaching saturation.

More HD channels with dual-play plans, KPN offers fewer channels

Dutch pay-TV providers offer an average 32 HD channels to customers, up from 29 in 2016, according to research from Telecompaper. At KPN, the number of channels fell over the same period, both in HD and SD.
